❤️SENIOR SPOTLIGHT❤️
Hi!! My name is josie stewart and i’ve been dancing at balleraena for 17 years and as I say goodbye to the studio, I can’t help but feel grateful for all the memories, friendships, and lessons i’ve had over the years. Dance has been such a huge part of my life because of how much of an influence everyone around me is, i couldn’t be any happier to have had the coaches and teachers that have believed and put time and effort into me which i thank them all endlessly for everything they’ve all done. My favorite style of dance is jazz because i love the freedom to express yourself and have fun. My favorite memory has to be the team bondings or being at the hotel for competitions and hanging out with my team, younger dancers, parents, and the coaches it really felt like a big family and i really enjoyed how everyone would get along. To the younger dancers, my biggest piece of advice is to never compare your journey to anyone else’s. Keep working hard, stay passionate, and remember that growth takes time so enjoy every moment on stage and in the studio because the years go by faster than you think. I will also always remember what Miss Raena has said ever since i was little and will continue to say “never miss a chance to dance.” Thank you Balleraena for making it so hard to say goodbye and giving me a second family🩷
Next year i plan on attending South Dakota State University where i will be studying exploratory studies in arts + minoring in dance!!
We are so excited for Ms. Rachel to be teaching this year at Balleraena!
Summer classes started today!!

✨SENIOR SPOTLIGHT✨
Hi!! My name is Lauryn Dreke, and I’m graduating from Roosevelt High School! I’ve been dancing since I was 4 years old, and I’ve been at Balleraena for 13 years. My favorite style of dance is either lyrical or modern because both allow you to express emotions in very different ways, depending on the choreography and style. It’s hard to pick a favorite memory because all of it has been so special, but one I think of often is dancing in the rain during one of the last weeks of McKenzie’s lyrical class a few years ago—we were all soaked for the rest of the night. Overall, recital shows the work that each dancer and teacher has put in throughout the year, and it’s so cool to see it all come together. Balleraena has given me some of my favorite people in the world, which is a lifelong gift I’ll always cherish. My advice for our younger dancers is to always walk into class with a positive attitude—it radiates to everyone around you. Also, hold onto the people you meet here because they may become your absolute best friends. Next year, I will be attending Augustana University, where I’ll be double majoring in Psychology and Sociology in hopes of becoming a child psychologist in the future! Balleraena has given me more than dance—it has given me people, memories, experiences, and the ability to express myself. I love this place and I’ll miss it so much.

💕Favorite memory at Balleraena: My favorite memory at Balleraena is when the diamonds won first overall at fluid this year and secured our spot in elite finals! I can’t wait to perform with the team in Arizona soon!
💕Advice for younger dancers: My advice to younger dancers is to never limit yourself.
