Today, we would like to wish our wonderful Vice President Gris, congratulations on her birthday!

Griselda’s dedication to our high school wrestling community is a true testament to her character. Though she may not have children wrestling in high school, she pours her heart and soul into ensuring that every athlete in the team has the best opportunities possible, as if they were her kids. Her commitment and passion shine brightly.

Let’s take a moment to express our gratitude for all she does, and wish her a birthday filled with love, laughter, and the appreciation.

The 2026 AIA Arizona State Championships brought big wins for several Yuma-area schools, and we’re proud to recognize these outstanding student-athletes.

At Gila Ridge High School, Cannon Farrar captured a State Championship title.

Over at Kofa High School, David Elias earned the title of State Champion, adding another major achievement to the Kings’ athletic legacy.

At Somerton High School, it was a historic year. Jayden Preston became the first-ever Toros State Champion. Kenneth Garcia claimed his title as the second Toros State Champ, and Annette Preston made history as the first Lady Toro State Champion.

And at Yuma Catholic High School, two athletes rose to the top of the podium. Khyla Lipumano and Skyler Bialecki both earned State Championship titles.

Congratulations to all of these incredible athletes for representing their schools and our community at the highest level.

Wishing our Toros the best of luck at sectionals today! Show them the results of your hard work!
