What a season for Saint Joseph Girls Lacrosse.🥍💐

The Huskies battled Thursday night in the Sectional Championship, falling to Crown Point 13-9 after a hard-fought game that showed the heart, grit, and determination this team carried all season long. Peyton Hopkins led the scoring with 6 goals, followed by Mary Maher with 2 and Lauren Duba adding another for the Huskies. Defensively, Mary Maher collected 3 ground balls, contributing to the team’s 10 total ground balls on the night. In goal, Maya Matthews recorded 7 saves, while Addie Helmen added 2 more.

This team finishes the season 10-4, but their impact goes far beyond the record. From big wins and milestone moments to the way they supported one another every single day, these girls gave this program so much to be proud of. Their effort, leadership, resilience, and love for each other never went unnoticed.

Thank you to our coaches, families, fans, and sponsors for showing up for these athletes all season long. Your support helped create an unforgettable year for this team and program. And to our seniors, thank you for the legacy you leave behind.

✨ Mary Maher hit her 100th career goal!!! She was on 🔥🔥🔥
✨ Alex Choinacky scored her FIRST high school goal after playing alongside Mary basically forever.
✨ 17 goals as a team 👀 Go girls!!!
✨ Maya Matthews doing Maya Matthews things in goal with 7 saves!

Now it’s Crown Point for the sectional title.

What a regular season for our girls! 🥍

JV finishes the season 6-2-1 and Varsity closes out at 9-3 after a hard-fought night against Culver Academies Eagles. The competition was exactly what we needed as we prepare for sectionals ahead.

And tonight, we also celebrated a huge milestone for Maya Matthews with 250 career saves as a goalie! 👏 What an incredible accomplishment and a true reflection of the hard work, grit, and leadership she brings to the cage every game. We are so proud of you, Maya!

Now it’s time for postseason lacrosse, May 13th at 6:30PM. Let’s go, Huskies!

Big win for Saint Joseph Girls Lacrosse ! The ladies went all out and fought to the very end to defeat Center Grove 14-13! This win against a 2A team extends the Huskies winning streak to 9 games!

We have so much to celebrate with this group of seniors. From bringing home a State Championship to setting a standard of hard work, leadership, and heart, these young women have given so much to our program.

And they are just getting started.

Every senior is continuing their journey to advance their education at outstanding colleges and universities, proving that success happens both on the field and in the classroom.

We are proud of the legacy you leave, the example you set, and the future ahead of you.

What a fun and meaningful night at our Bark Back for Cancer event 💜

Because of this incredible community, we raised over $4,000 and surpassed our goal, with all proceeds going to RiverBend Cancer Services

Thank you to everyone who came out, supported, and showed up for this cause. A special thank you to Shelley Schmeltz for putting this all together and to Mary Maher (Varsity Captain) for this incredible idea that has now come to life for the second year!

And we have to say it, the Varsity girls beat the boys and took home the Husky Bone 🐾 Great job ladies. 👏

Peyton Hopkins. 100 CAREER GOALS!!! 🥍

In a huge milestone moment, Peyton hit her 100th Varsity goal and led Saint Joseph with an incredible 6 goals and 1 assist. A performance that says everything about her talent, consistency, and leadership—what a night and what an accomplishment!

Behind Peyton’s big night, the Huskies dominated Lake Central 15–2 at home. Mary Maher, Julia Napier, and Leighton Stanley each added 2 goals, while Emily Patterson, Caitlin Shrewsberry, and Peyton Forsyth each scored. The defense stepped up as well, collecting 15 ground balls and forcing key turnovers. Maya Matthews recorded 2 saves to earn the win in goal, with Addie Helmen adding a save.

JV kept the momentum going with an impressive 11–0 shutout over Marian. Audrey Milliron and Kira Wasilewski led the way with 3 goals each, while Marley Custer, Racheal Gebhardt, Molly Arnold, Ava Kujawa, and Vivienne Ruszkowski each added a goal. The defense stayed strong with 5 ground balls, and Addie Helmen secured the win in goal with a save.
