Between summer camps, play dates, coaching clients, grocery runs, and all the other things that come with having two little boys home for the summer, it would have been easy to put my goals on the back burner until life felt more "normal."

Instead, I hired a coach.

Not because I don't know what to do, but because accountability matters. Having someone in my corner has helped me stay consistent with my workouts, steps, nutrition, and the goals I've set for myself, even during one of the busiest seasons of the year.

And it's reminded me of something I tell my own clients all the time: you don't need perfect conditions to make progress.

There will always be a busy season, a vacation, a sick kid, or a schedule change. Learning how to stay consistent through the chaos is often more valuable than being consistent when life is easy.

Because life doesn’t stop just because you have a kid.

So if you’re waiting for your six week checkup to start moving your body intentionally again, maybe it’s time we re-evaluate your approach.

Let’s clear something up:
That 6-week postpartum appointment isn’t a magic “green light.” It’s a general guideline, not a prescription. And waiting until then to even think about movement might be holding you back from a smoother, stronger recovery.

You can start reconnecting with your body sooner with gentle, intention, and safe exercises.
Many of my clients begin light movement as early as 2–3 weeks postpartum after a vaginal delivery and 5–6 weeks after a C-section (with clearance for walking and daily movement).

We’re not talking push-ups and planks…we’re talking:
✨Getting on the floor during tummy time for some 360 breathing
✨ Gentle core activations like heel slides, heel taps, and glute bridges
✨ Reconnecting with your breath, posture, and pelvic floor — little by little

This is the foundation of healing.

This is how you rebuild strength from the inside out.

And if you haven’t started yet? You don’t need to feel guilty.

But let this be your sign: You can start. And you don’t have to do it alone.

Opening up a few spots for In {Your} Home Personal Training this summer.

As a mom myself, I know how challenging it can be to balance fitness, motherhood, and every day life. My mission is to lower the barrier and support women in the community with a variety of different options to help you build strength, confidence, and sustainable habits.

Tummy time isn’t just an important part of the day for your baby. It can be a built-in window for you to move, too.

If you’re a new mom, you know that finding time for workouts with a little one around isn’t always easy.

But that’s not stopping my clients. In fact, tummy time has become one of the most popular times for them to workout because they’re already on the floor playing with their little one and they decided to take advantage of that.

I create workouts that fit seamlessly into tummy time with:
✅ Quick, efficient movements that don’t require equipment
✅ Core and pelvic floor-friendly exercises you can do next to your baby
✅ Realistic expectations, because some days it’s 10 minutes, and that’s enough
✅ Lots of pauses, giggles, and yes, the occasional diaper change mid-set 😅

It doesn’t have to be perfect or make you break a sweat. The important thing is that it’s doable for your life right now.

Jane lights up my week in a way that’s hard to put into words.

Her determination, her humor, and her willingness to start something new at 88 is something most people half her age are still waiting to do.

Jane came to me about two months ago wanting to build strength, learn the machines at the gym, and improve her stamina and balance.

After years of navigating scoliosis and sciatica, her body had developed significant imbalances. Walking was becoming harder, less stable, and more frustrating.

After just one session together and a few laps around the gym, she paused and said something that stuck with me: “Walking already feels easier.”

Not perfect and certainly not pain-free, but better.
Progress isn’t a complete transformation overnight. It’s small wins that stack up until one day you realize you’re moving through your life differently.
