Well done to our U18 SaberCats team for an outstanding performance this past weekend at the Panther Rugby Academy Tournament in Nashville! The boys went an impressive 3-0, dominating with a combined score of 107-22 in a 22-minute half format.
Their dedication, teamwork, and relentless drive were on full display — these young men truly earned every bit of their success. You’ve made Houston and the SaberCats family incredibly proud.

Before the U18 match, our U16s played a tough match and came up short against a strong Gold U16 side. After leading at halftime, a few second-half errors proved costly.

Despite the result, this squad showed heart, hustle, and pride—repping Houston and the Sabercats with class. The future is bright for these young guns!

Last Saturday our U18s boys traveled down to New Orleans to play the Gold U18 side. It was a hot day but a fantastic showing from our U18 boys. They represented the Sabercats with pride. Thanks to Nola Gold for the hospitality and match. Next weekend the team is off the Nashville to play in the Panther Rugby Academy Tournament.

Our Sabercats U18 Girls gave it everything on the field, playing with grit, passion, and unstoppable teamwork. These action shots capture the drive that makes this team special. One team. One goal. Sabercats strong!

Yesterday marked a historic moment for the SaberCats Academy as our first-ever U18 Girls team took the field in their debut match against the highly respected North Carolina Girls All Stars.

While the final score didn’t fall in our favor, the effort, resilience, and pride shown by our athletes was truly inspiring.

These young women represented the SaberCats with heart and determination, laying the foundation for what promises to be a bright and impactful future for girls rugby in our community. With most of the Houston girls rugby being 7s only, this was a great opportunity to grow in the 15s space.

We extend our sincere thanks to the North Carolina Girls All Stars for their sportsmanship, high-level competition, and support of youth rugby. This match was more than just a game—it was the start of something much bigger. We hope to keep growing the U18 SaberCat Girls in the future.

The journey has just begun.
