Excitement Brewing for the 2026 Grand Prix America Hydroplane Season!

With only a few months left until the highly anticipated 2026 season kicks off, the Grand Prix America Hydroplane (GPA) is thrilled to announce that 14 teams have officially committed to competing. GPA President Bryan Richards expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "With this high caliber of teams, fans are going to see some incredible racing!"

The boys are hard at work Connor & Josh have been working on sanding more deck hatches and Cleaning up some parts in the Engine bay the Capsule lid got taken off to prep for paint! Lots of work has been getting done! Pretty sure we got a lot of weight off the boat and even seen a couple of the old Red, White and Blue from when Paul Droullard had the boat paint like the American flag!

We are plugging away getting the GP in final preparation for the season over here at Jiggs Motorsports. The GP-88 is beginning to get put back together we have fixed a lot of issues and things we wanted to address. Starting to get the boat back together for spring testing we have done a lot of work with painting the engine bay and gonna start spraying the new yellow! Got the skid bracket mounted and aligned. Once that was done we got the capsule and new head restraint mounted! Fixed the a part of the engine bay that had some issues and cleaned it up got new and improved skid fin brackets! Also in the photo you can get a quick sneak peek of the the scheme of the boat with the up rights! 😜

As we proceed with preparations for the upcoming season, our engine bay has been revitalized with a fresh coat of white paint. Connor's meticulous attention to detail has transformed the valve covers, and his focus now shifts to polishing the blower hat. The boat is on the cusp of being ready for painting. We're making significant progress in fabricating new oil, fuel, and water lines for the vessel. With reassembly and preseason testing on the horizon, scheduled for May 30th, our momentum is building. We'll continue to share updates on Jiggs Motorsports and eagerly anticipate reconnecting with you all soon! 🏁

Jiggs Motorsports had a great weekend; the engine bay is all sanded and getting prepped for paint. Dave and Darrin were working on the Skidfin compartment, fixing all the issues in that area. Josh was working on the Engine Bay, getting it prepped for paint since it's getting a new color put inside, and he was also sanding other parts. Connor and Brent were working on the strut bracket, getting it all cleaned up; huge shout to those two for going over to Seattle on Tuesday to get more parts for the boat. We are getting closer to painting the top of the boat; some other areas will be getting sanded down and ready to paint. Stay tuned; we will have more updates and pictures coming.
