Hi, my name is Terri Ashley. Welcome to my business page, Ashley Strength and Fitness! I train people of all ages, especially those who are 65+.
I specialize in strength and conditioning training, as well as coaching powerlifting.
Client shout out: Mike is making so much progress, both with his form and the amount of weight he’s lifting. 195x3x3 on deadlifts, followed by pauses at 155x3x3.
But what I’m most proud of is his finally being able to get under a straight bar for squats. Because of two injuries, he hasn’t ever been able to do this without pain, and today, he did it. We’ve worked so hard to get him to this point.
Next up: his first powerlifting meet. Let’s go!!!
I had the honor of coaching for his very first powerlifting competition. I’m very proud of Danny’s performance! 9/9 with PRs for both squat and deadlift.
Squat: 424.4 lbs, ⚪️⚪️⚪️
Bench: 270.1 lbs, ⚪️⚪️⚪️
Deadlift: 474 lbs, ⚪️⚪️⚪️
Total: 1168.5 lbs
I told Danny I fully expect him to be out lifting me within year, and that’s what we’re gonna do.
Have I mentioned that strength is for everyone? 🤩 Here’s 74 year old Eric, drilling deadlift technique — three sets of 155x5 reps and deficits at 115x3x5.
Resistance training is not only great for building strength and muscle; it also helps to build bone density, which is especially important for our elderly population, many of whom suffer from osteoporosis.
Lifting weights is safe (and healthy!) for the vast majority of people. Just make sure you learn the proper technique. ✨

I just wanted to give this strong man a shout out. Last week, I put him through one of the workouts I program for myself. We trained secondary bench movements and accessories, and 👏🏾 he 👏🏾 killed 👏🏾 it.

Remember Heavyn from last week? She came back for more! On our last set of squats, she made it very clear that she wanted to do it on her own, with no help.
She was super proud of herself and I was, too! …still wouldn’t give me a high five, so I had to tickle it out of her. 😆
