American International College Softball's games at Hartford today have been postponed. Makeup date is TBD.

Congrats to our very own Sammy for being named to the honor roll! Sanchez put together arguably the best four-game stretch of her career as she went 8-for-13 for a .615 batting average, scoring twice and racking up six runs batted in, including a walk-off hit in the bottom of the 7th in a come-from-behind win over Staten Island.

Another double header…another split!

AIC took game one in a wild one that went extra innings. The international tie breaker came into effect in the top of the 8th. Sammy Sanchez laid down a textbook bunt which brought up Brooklyn Cividanes with a runner on third. All we needed was a sac fly but Brooklyn would have none of that. Instead, she launched a no doubter over the left field fence securing the lead, and the eventual win! Her first career home run couldn’t have come at a better time! In game one AIC tallied 11 hits total.

AIC fell to Post in game two by a score of 12-4. Unfortunately our bats did not show up and we only tallied 6 hits. Post was able to find holes and we couldn’t respond in our normal fashion. But, that won’t get us down! We know our potential and will be back to ourselves in no time!

Next up - an out of conference contest against an in conference opponent. AIC Softball heads up to SNHU on Monday. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30pm.

HITS. That is today’s word of the day! AIC split today with College of Staten Island. The bats were red hot as we tallied 29 hits and scored 20 runs throughout both games.

AIC trailed going into the bottom of the 7th but in true AIC fashion we made a comback and Sammy Sanchez drove in the winning run with two outs, sparked by a lead off triple by Abby Wells.

Game two was no different in the dramatics. Trailing 12-7 into the bottom of the 7th the bats continued to thrive and find holes. Unfortunately, we came up a little short falling to CSI by a score of 12-11.

Sammy Sanchez went 6-8 on the day with 5 RBIs. Abby Wells went 4-9 hitting two doubles and a triple. Kodi Gora was hot at the plate going 6-10 with 5 RBIs while hitting a double and HR today. Brooklyn Cividanes continues to impress during her rookie campaign going 3-6 with a double and an RBI and two walks. Taylor Murphy went 2-4 with big pinch hit in game 2, while also drawing 2 walks in game 1. And Lastly, Julia Krijgsman smashed two doubles and had 3 RBIs on the day. She also earned the win in game one.

Your favorite Yellow Jackets are back in action Friday hitting the road against Post University. First pitch is scheduled for 2pm.

Congrats to Juniors Destiny McGrath and Kaitlyn Boone for earning some recognition by the NE10!

Your favorite Yellow Jackets split the day to close out our Spring Training trip in sunny Florida. This split brings our record to 3-3.

AIC only needed 5 innings to take down UPitt Johnstown with a score of 11-1. Bats were hot as we rallied 8 hits and Riley only gave up 5. Destiny McGrath went 3-3 scoring 4 times. Kodi Gora and Sammy Sanchez both went 1-3 with 3 and 2 RBIs. Abby Wells went 1-2 with 2 walks and scored 3 times. Riley picked up the win pitching 4.1 innings and our ace closer Katelyn Boone picked up the save.

AIC fell to D’Youville by a score of 7-3. AIC tallied 8 hits and runners threatened the majority of the innings but we were unable to push them across. Sammy and Kodi each had a double in this game and Abby picked up two more hits to bring her career tally to 100! Errors were the difference in this game.

Next up - CSI at home on Wednesday! First pitch st 2:00pm. Hope you make it to the field and if not - the games are all live streamed.

Your favorite Yellow Jackets dropped two games today against the University of Indianapolis and Slippery Rock to bring the season to a 3-3 start.

After trailing 12-1 to U of Indy into the top of the 5th the bats came alive for the Yellow Jackets. In a must score to keep playing situation, the squad tallied an impressive 9 runs to bring the score to 12-10 against a very talented team who has only let up 5 runs total in their previous 6 games, and is currently ranked #8 in the country. AIC was able to keep them scoreless for the next two innings and threatened in the top of the 7th but were unable to push across runners who were on 2nd and 3rd.

In the second match up of the day AIC trailed Slippery Rock 1-0 into the top of the 7th. Slippery Rock was able to tack on 3 more and AIC was not able to overcome the deficit. It seems like all of our hits for the day were used up during the first contest as we only tallied 2 hits. Pitching, by both Julia and Riley, was solid as they only let up a combined 5 hits in the game.

There are way too many players to shout out for their impressive performances but overall AIC played solid softball today! AIC will conclude its time at The Spring Games tomorrow by facing off with UPitt Johnstown at 9:00 a.m. before an 11:15 a.m. challenge against D’Youville at the DiamondPlex.

Your favorite Yellow Jackets took to the field today in sunny Florida! We split the day losing a hard fought battle against Southwest Minnesota State 3-0, and coming out on top against Quincy University, 4-3.

Senior Riley Sullivan went the distance against SWMS - giving up 3 hits and 1 earned run. Sophomore Julia Krijgsman pitched 6.1 giving up 2 earned runs against QU. Junior Kaitlyn Boone came in the 7th with two runners on and no outs. Bases became loaded on a fielders choice. Boone then threw two groundballs to get out of the inning for the save.

Congrats to Freshmen Morgan Bemont, Brooklyn Cividanes and Lauren Ramalho for notching their first collegiate hits of their careers!

The Yellow Jackets take the field again tomorrow against Lake Erie College at 9am and Northern State at 11:15am.
