ππ SECOND PLACE, BUT FIRST-CLASS HEART! ππ
What a DAY for our Queen City Buzz 8U girls! π₯π
We didnβt get the start we wanted, dropping our first two pool play games, but these girls showed everyone what Buzz softball is all about: grit, heart, and never giving up.
From great plays at first by Jaesynn Holinde to every girl in the lineup getting a hit, this team kept battling. And when bracket play started, our third-seeded Buzz came ready to FIGHT! π₯
We battled our way back, defeated a team we had lost to earlier, and watched some seriously good softball happen! We saw heads-up softball IQ, smart base running, pop flies caught, big hits, and girls trusting themselves and each other. These are the moments that remind us how much this team is growing! π
Then came the championship game. After being beaten 18-3 earlier in the day by Oklahoma Smokeshow, our girls came out ready to compete and held them in check early in the championship before the game slipped away in the final inning. We may not have finished with the win, but we showed up, competed, and made them earn it.
Every single girl showed up with grit and heart, and we walked away with 2ND PLACE in the tournament! π₯π
And because we know how to have a little fun, our Barbie-themed costumes brought home 2ND PLACE in the costume contest, too! π

A special congratulations to our Tournament MVP, Jessa Cavness! π You earned it!
Twelve hits in the championship game against Oklahoma Smokeshow, a comeback through bracket play, a championship appearance, and a team that refused to quit.
Coaching these girls is about so much more than wins and losses. Itβs watching confidence grow, softball IQ develop, teammates lift each other up, and little girls learn what theyβre capable of when they keep showing up.
We are STRONG. We are CAPABLE. We are BUZZ. ππ€π
