Systema is a Russian Martial System with roots in ancient traditions dating back to 10 AD.

It is a system for developing one’s psyche (mind-body & spirit); self-defense skills, mobility, strength and endurance. Our physical address is disclosed after screening prospective students. In addition, we train in outdoor locations as well as travel for private instruction and workshops.

Knife Disarm training. These are exercises to learn and practice the dynamics of disarming in relation to position, timing, and manipulation of body mechanics. Done slowly with explanation of these dynamics. Again, "slow is smooth, smooth is fast" and if you can't do it slow, you sure can't do it fast at combat speed with unpredictable changes in variables.

This is slow training to learn position, body mechanics, mobility, timing, sensitivity to movement and dynamics of disarming and to instruct details of principles for learning BEFORE, attempting to go at combat speed. As Navy Seals often say; "Slow is Smooth, Smooth is Fast." If you can't do it slow, you sure can't do it fast.

Learning to use feet to take down a person from standing position.
Next stage would be in motion with him resisting and countering.

This is a way to train slowly and learn to apply basic principles of escaping from a ground fight. REMEMBER: If you can't do it slow, you can't do it fast. I believe a Navy Seal Training Motto is: "slow is smooth and smooth is fast. " Also, when you go at speed all the time, you tense up too much and this creates fear and makes it harder to learn by "feel" and by "seeing" what's happening. As you somatically create neural pathways, they become second nature and get programmed into you so you can move more freely with less tension and fear. Then under pressure, going fast, it just happens.

Limb trapping and counter striking. Part 2

This way of training develops sensitivity, timing, softness and relaxation as well as somatic awareness and intuitive solutions to situations. We are practicing principles that lead to the" creation of techniques spontaneously" rather than thinking of technical counter for counter solutions to grabs, holds and strikes.
