Woke up early to get some cooking and work done before my littles took up all my attention. So my 3 year old decided to get up early too!🤦♀️

The burnout, the stress, the overwhelm, we are all feeling it. The good news is you do not have to suffer alone. There are many therapists, friends, and family ready to support you (including me!)
So lets start the conversation about self care. Now more than ever selfcare is so important, but its also so hard to do. Without nurishing yourseld you cannot nurish others. What are you doing for selfcare? What tricks have you picked up this past year?

Good moms have scary thoughts. We don't want them or ask for them but they pop into our heads anyway. Take a minute to realize most of us have been there and it doesn't mean you are a bad mom.
This is often a topic of discussion when you talk with me. Help is right around the corner. You kust have to take the first step.

The way we enter this world stays with us. The way our children enter this world also stays with us. The collective trama that has encompassed this past year has been earth shattering. Giving birth during COVID is no different. Processing labor and delivery can help both you and your baby.

You are not alone. We all are struggling through the chaos that has been this past year. Together we can make it through. You are stronger than you know!

These are some of my favorite moments but most of the time parenthood looks messy and crazy with toys, food, dishes all over and screaming kids. This is a new time for us all and more important than ever to be taking care of ourselves. How has your self care changed since the pandemic shut us down? What does your self care look like?
One part of mine is doing a 10 min exercise video every morning. It gets me moving, gives me a sense of routine and starts the day with a sense of accomplishment. Below are two of my favorites.

Humpday breakfast of champions! Made by one of my daughters. Being moms we always hope to pass on our passions and raise independent productive citizens. Baking has always been a passion of mine. Something i could do when I felt down or needed some sense of control over my life. Teaching my kids how to bake was a challenge for me, because it meant letting go over some of the control, and now turning over the reigns is an even bigger challenge. Letting go of control is so hard but in the end the rewards were amazing. I had more time to get other tasks done, she gained a sense of accomplishment, and we all had a yummy breakfast.

Kicking off maternal mental health week with Project blue dot's challenge to us moms to show what it means to be a mom. Here's my feelings on it during this season of my life. Nursing at 5am while trying to get some work done and fiting in a little self care before the other kids wake up.
Being a mom is wonderful, hard, challenging, exhausting, special, amazing, full of love and frustration and all the other feelings under the sun and moon. Some times we rock it and sometimes we don't.
Know that you are doing great. You are enough.

Have some fun while staying home. Play with your wardrobe. Noone will see you anyway! Wear an outfit you normally wouldn't. If you have little ones make it into a themed day, taking them on an adventure and making food to match!
