I haven’t vlogged in SO LONG, but now we back😏. I work overnights but had the privilege to leave early and be able to see my sister graduate yesterday🎓I left St. Louis a little after 8pm and drove 4 hours and 55 minutes (debatebly🙂‍↕️) straight there in my steel toe boots 🥾, and stayed awake for more than 24 hours for this turnaround trip. When you love people you show up. I’m a firm believer in “the highway 🛣️ goes both ways”… So if you wanna see somebody ain’t nothing stopping you but a few dollars and some effort. I wasn’t missing this AT ALL😌

And my final act of love is not sending you to prison… I’ve spent the last year of my life dealing with THIS. Loving someone with mental health and substance abuse issues is one of the hardest things I’ve ever dealt with. At first they’re extremely sweet, understanding, helpful in all the little ways you need, always there to support and be that pilar to lean on. After a while they remove the representative version or “facade” and flip a switch you never seen coming. At this point it won’t matter how much “potential” you see in them, how much you tell them you’re there, how much you show them you care through your actions, or support them financially (whether they accept it or not), it will never be enough until they’re sober and recover. It’s even harder seeing the close relatives who enable them (buying the drugs), and encourage their psychotic behavior after listening to whatever excuse the person came up with to validate their abuse. I woke up a while ago and decided to walk away for good, while I still could. I’m learning that if a man says he’ll k*•• you, believe him the first time… And by the grace of God I made it out alive🥹

Because sometimes we all just need some space…
