Mole Myths:
Ive heard about and seen all the home remedies to get rid of moles....
*juicy fruit in the tunnel
*poison peanuts
*using a garden hose to flood them out
*running your car exhaust into the tunnel
My personal favorite, the "Solar spikes". All of them are a waste of time and money. Trapping is the only definite way to rid your yard of moles!

Diet:
Grubs and earthworms make-up most of a moles diet. Although moles do feed on grubs, earthworms and redworms make up the majority of their diet. This is where the common misconception of "just treating your lawn" with grub killer will get rid of your moles is untrue. You must eliminate the moles first, then you can take measures to prevent recurrence.

A series of tunnels are dug from soil that has to be thick enough, pliable and adhesive enough to support the vast tunnel systems. According to the National Wildlife Federation s mole can dig 160 ft in just one night! Thats equivalent to a half mile for a human. Thats some CRAZY DIGGIN!

Moles Breeding:
Late winter through spring, March, April and May moles will have between 2-5 offspring in a litter. The young will leave the nest somewhere at about 4 weeks to fend for themselves. A single mole can live up to 36 months!
