The equator divides Kenya into almost two equal halves. Some of the prominent equator markers are found in Timboroa, Nanyuki and Maseno. There are many equator markers throughout Kenya but the most famous marker is that at Nanyuki Town which was on our way to Samburu National Park and of course a perfect spot for a quick photo.

Asymmetrical balance requires you to maintain your center of gravity in order to remain in balance.
Try out different one-legged standing asanas like Vrksasana, Garudasana, Natarajasana or any other asana to see how you balance your mind, body and breath.
Make a note of your breath, your dristhi/focused gaze, hand and leg placement that allows for the most stability.
I felt this balance test apt for Delphi which was considered as the “center of earth” and has the Ancient Greek aphorism "know thyself" inscribed in the forecourt of the Temple of Apollo at Delphi.

Delphi - Greece. At the foot of Mount Parnassos, within the angle formed by the twin rocks of the Phaedriades, lies the Pan- Hellenic sanctuary of Delphi, which had the most famous oracle of ancient Greece. Delphi was regarded as the center of the world. According to mythology, it is here that the two eagles sent out by Zeus from the ends of the universe to find the navel of the world met. Found a flat rock away from the crowd, a perfect spot for some meditation.

Deepen your Mind-Body Connection
Pranayama is a deep breathing exercise that helps to connect the body with the mind. Anulom Vilom pranayama (alternate nose breathing) is conscious inhalation through one nostril and exhalation through the other. Vishnu Mudra, a balancing gesture to honor the Lord of Universal Balance is normally used in Anulom Vilom Pranayama. The middle and index finger is grounded by pressing them into the mound of your palm suppressing the air and ether elements. The energies of fire (thumb), water (little finger), and earth (ring finger) elements are allowed to flow freely; the energies of air (index finger) and ether (middle finger) are harnessed in the formation of this Mudra.
Practicing pranayama daily helps train the lungs and improves the capacity of respiratory system immensely and results in numerous health benefits.

Here is one of my daily morning routines to help me center my mind, bring some balance in my body, and with the hope for that a.m. bliss and boost that has more lasting energy than any caffeine can provide.
