I'm a retired sprinkler fitter who has been fishing the lake since 1999. In 2017 my wife and I built a home at the lake and moved here full time in 2018. My successes on the lake include:
-1st place 2013 Bud Light Classic
-1st place 2021 Mark Twain Lake Classic
-3 time winner of Eberlin Boat and Motor Tournament
-3 time winner of 154 Marine Tournament
-Numerous Bass World Sports, Joe Bass, and FX
For a remainder of 26 I will be taking no more Guide trips.
Anne and I have some personal stuff going on here at the house and I don’t feel that I can do a good enough job for my clients.
I am sure everything will work out the way we believe it will and I’ll be back out on the water next year making new friends.
I will still be on the water fishing, so I will make sure I put reports up for everyone. I just don’t have the time that I normally do.

The spawn is quickly approaching, so I thought I’d show you a few of my head and bait color combos.
It all depends on the watercolor and sun light for the color and the mood of the fish for the bait profile. The best thing I can tell you to do is if they are not biting, keep switching up to figure it out.
My plastic bait of choice is always Brushpile Jigs, I will start with a 1.5 bandit move up to a 2 inch hammer if that doesn’t work I’ll go all the way to 2 1/2 inch dancer.
My favorite colors are orange sunrise, snowflake, disco, blue, monkey milk, ghost Hunter, bluegrass and Knight Rider. Not in any particular order.
My favorite head is Thumper Jigs dwarf pill head in granite, gold nugget, John Deere green and pink.
Mafia Rods 9 foot guide series corking rod, and a 10 foot guide series rod are my favorite for corking. Sensitivity and backbone are very good for feeling these light bites and ripping them out of the buck Brush.
Cannon Dam General Store has a great selection of Brush Pile Jigs heads and bodies with more on the way.
The Hunting Corner MO in Monroe city also has a very good selection of Brush Pile Jigs, bodies and heads.
The hobby hunt in Perry has good selection also.
South fork resort also has a great selection of Brush Pile Jigs, and Thumper Jigs heads.
That’s everybody around the lake that is carrying them at this time that I know of.

Zeke from three Forks guide service and myself got out on the lake today to see how the crappie bite was for some upcoming trips.
To tell the truth, the bite was actually really good. The fish were a little finicky and we had to put it right on their head, but they’re extremely nice fish.
We stayed midlake fishing back in pockets in the dirty water. The fish were anywhere from 2 foot to 15 foot down.
Today was catching release only but I did take a few pictures.
If you’d like to get out on the lake, give me a text or a call at 314-574-3183 or message me your own Facebook.

Had another great trip out on the lake today with Craig and Martin. They were looking for some fish for a fish fry. They were able to get a very nice massive crappie. Enjoy those fresh sides gentlemen.
We fished mid-lake with Thumper Jigs 1/8 ounce dwarf pill head in chartreuse. Brushpile Jigs 1.5 bandit in black and chartreuse but at this time I think there are many colors that will work.
If you would like to get out and catch some crappie give me a text or a call at 314-574-3183 or message me her on Facebook

Out on the water a couple of days this week, and the bite has been exceptionally good.
The fish have definitely moved into a pre spawn pattern and they can be caught in a lot of different ways right now.
A couple of my groups didn’t really want me to post pictures of them so I will post a few of some past trips.
We fished midlake all week. Everything we caught was on Brushpile Jigs 1.5 bandits in Black and chartreuse or blue and chartreuse. Thumper Jigs 1/16 ounce and 1/8 ounce dwarf pill heads in chartreuse or yellow.
The bite is still extremely soft having a high-quality rod like Mafia Rods 8 foot sharp shooter is a must. This rod can also double as a good cork rod.

The fish are moving up higher in the water column as the day moves on, so make sure you check everywhere.
I still have openings for April if you’d like to get on the water give me a text or a call at 314-574-3183 or message me here on Facebook
I have Wednesday 25, Thursday 26 and Friday 27 of next week open if you’d like to get out and catch some Crappie, give me a call or text at 314-574-3183 or message me here on Facebook.

It’s always my favorite time on the water when I get to take kids.
Three kids Betty 12 year old Nate 10 years old and Nora 8 years old a long with their dad Bill.
They were able to put at least 50 crappie in the boat 30 of which were 9 1/2 inches with the biggest one being 13 1/2 inches.
The bite was still not easy the fish like to follow and not eat so you have to go through several before you find one that will take the bait.
Great job you guys and thanks for a very entertaining day.
