I love when clients share their experiences, because it helps others understand what sound healing can feel like. One woman who attended her first session wrote this afterward:
“My first sound‑healing session with Andra was truly wonderful. She created a calm, welcoming, and respectful environment that helped me relax almost immediately.
I could feel the vibrations from the singing bowls throughout my body — in my forehead, the top of my head, and deep within in ways I’ve never experienced before. It was both calming and powerful.
Afterward, I felt lighter, calmer, and as though I had released stress I’d been carrying for a long time. Since then, I’ve noticed I’m happier, more open, and more at ease — even my husband commented that I seem more relaxed and more loving.
If you’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or emotionally stuck, I highly recommend a session with Andra. This was my first sound‑healing experience, and it definitely won’t be my last.”
If you’re curious about sound healing or want a deeply relaxing reset, I have a few openings this month for private sessions here in the neighborhood.
Happy to answer questions or help you figure out what might feel supportive for your body and nervous system.

Did you know that being shown love every day builds a sense of security and lowers stress hormones? Did you know that humans require 4 to 8 meaningful touches a day to regulate emotional well-being, lower stress, hormones, it regulates the central nervous system, and it releases an oxytocin which our mood boosting hormones.
There are more and more people living alone these days, and choosing not to be in relationships, for whatever reason. Even in relationships, they often stressful and lacking positive and healthy interactions.
Ever wonder how society got to where it is today and why people are so stressed and angry?
Showing acts of love and kindness to others has such a positive side effect, and seems so simple and yet majority of us aren’t practicing it on a daily basis if at all. It seems to struggle these days even a whole doors for each other, we are patiently in line without being hostile, or driving in a manner that protects ourselves and others on the road and this is how we behave and irregular basis instead of showing love, kindness and compassion, is it any wonder that the world is in the state it is?
Is this truly the path who want to continue on?
How can we begin to make small changes today to be kinder and more loving even to those we may not know and we never see again?
Photo is just for attention.

When did social etiquette and common courtesy leave this country?
I was at Starbucks earlier this morning and I held the door open for someone with their hands full and was dressed to impress (she looked stunning). She was so grateful and stunned that I’d taken the time to open the door for her and to compliment her appearance.
I thought to myself ‘that’s kind of sad, that my behavior seemed out of the ordinary to her.’
As I left Starbucks, I held the door open for a couple entering the store. Both of them touched the door as they passed as if they were sure at any moment I’d let go and let the door close on them.
As, I’m sitting in my car, my drink sitting next to me untouched, I have to wonder what’s happened to us?
I do DoorDash when I’m not working with clients teaching yoga or personal training (way different things - if you’re wondering). DoorDash pays for me to take off work to go to my clinicals in Iowa for a week, eating out, doing fun things, and it’ll pay for me to go to India in the near future. It’s a great side hustle. But it puts me out in public.
What I experience is men with children - often teenage boys will walk in front of me into stores and 99% of them will allow the door to close in my face.
People in general do this but it disturbs me that dads are no longer concerned with teaching etiquette. So, is etiquette and courtesy a thing of the past?
Have we truly become a ‘me first society?’
It’s what I’m witnessing as I move throughout this world.
I don’t offer to help people very often, I do small things like open doors and compliment people - because that’s what I can do. My life’s busy, my stress level is HIGH, and my ability ro take on more is at -0. But I still have manners on most days. There are days that I’m lacking but those are days I’m so overwhelmed I couldn’t even tell you what I’m wearing unless I took the time to look. Working full-time, working a side hustle, working on my masters, a sister with a brain tumor, a mom that my sister is stuck caring for because she’s the only one left able to speak to her after a lifetime of abuse - it’s hard! Even if I wanted to help out - I can’t from over 6 hours away. Life’s HARD for me and I believe it is for most of us. I’m not an outlier in my struggles. I have my moments of being thoughtless and rude because I’m too much in my own head.
We ALL have moments like these. But the MAJORITY of us - all day long?
I don’t think being busy and stressed is the cause of loss of etiquette and common courtesy. I think it’s this sudden belief system that ‘only I and my agenda matter.’
I don’t think as a society we are headed any place good. Do you?
Maybe this is how someone like Donald Trump and his goons were able to so effectively and EFFORTLESSLY take over our country.
We honestly don’t give a damn.
I’m using my grandsons photo because it’s his generation I’m most concerned for. His generation might have nothing left to smile, dream, or hope for if we continue down this path.
His generation will be angry, bitter, and fearful and we will be the ones to blame.
Truly!

🌸🌿 Your Gentle Spring Dosha Balancing Guide by Andra Benson
Learn what Vata, Pitta, and Kapha really mean in Ayurveda and how your dosha influences digestion, sleep, mood, and overall well‑being. A gentle beginner’s guide.
03/30/2026
Ayurveda calls this the Vata/Pitta stage of life.
It’s not a diagnosis.
It’s not a problem.
It’s simply a shift — one that asks for a different kind of care.
And Spring, with its lightness, wind, and unpredictability, tends to amplify both Vata and Pitta. This makes the season an ideal time to reset, simplify, and nourish.
🥣 A Simple Spring Recipe
Warming Ginger‑Coconut Kitchari
Ingredients
• 1 cup basmati rice
• ½ cup split yellow mung dal
• 1 tbsp ghee or coconut oil

🌼 What Are the Doshas? A Gentle, Beginner‑Friendly Guide to Your Ayurvedic Blueprint
Ayurveda teaches that every person has a unique mind‑body blueprint — a natural pattern of energy that shapes how you digest, sleep, think, move, and respond to stress. This blueprint is made up of the three doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
You have all three.
But one or two tend to lead the way.
Understanding your doshas isn’t about labeling yourself.
It’s about learning how your body communicates — and how to support it with more ease.

🌿 Ayurveda Volunteers Wanted (Free)
Seeking Volunteers for Ayurveda Pulse-Reading & Wellness Assessment Practice
Hi neighbors! My name is Andra, and I’m currently completing my undergraduate studies in Ayurveda & Integrative Medicine. As part of my hands-on training, I’m beginning to practice Ayurvedic pulse assessment and offer foundational lifestyle recommendations based on what I’m learning.
A few important notes so expectations are clear:
• I am still a student, not a licensed practitioner.
• These sessions are for learning and practice only.
• I am not charging — your participation helps me grow my skills.
🌿 How It Works
If you’re interested in volunteering, the first step is to schedule a free consultation through my website. This short Zoom call gives us a chance to meet, answer questions, and walk through what to expect.
👉 You can sign up here: https://www.bbbtyoga.com/offerings/free-consultation-5381b9ea-bfd3-41ed-95a7-f18974d4d3fd
After our consultation, I’ll email you a multi‑page Ayurvedic intake form. You can fill it out at your own pace and either email it back or bring it to your first in‑person session. Most people find the intake surprisingly insightful — especially if they’re curious about long-term wellness or want to follow my work throughout my education and beyond.
🌿 Volunteer Sessions Include:
• A thorough, holistic intake (completed by you beforehand)
• A pulse-reading practice
• A discussion of your doshic tendencies
• Gentle, educational lifestyle suggestions rooted in classical Ayurvedic principles
If you’re curious about Ayurveda, enjoy supporting student practitioners, or want to explore a whole-person approach to wellness, I’d love to connect.
Feel free to message me with questions — or simply schedule your free consultation through my website to get started.

🌟 Let’s Talk Hip Mobility — and Why It Matters More Than You Think! 🌟
Healthy hips do so much for us every single day. They help us stand up, walk smoothly, climb stairs, bend to pick things up, and even keep our balance. When our hips get stiff or weak, simple daily movements start to feel harder — and that’s often when discomfort or injuries sneak in.
✨ Why Hip Mobility Matters:
Helps reduce low‑back, knee, and hip pain
Improves balance and stability (big for fall prevention!)
Makes walking, standing, and getting in/out of chairs easier
Supports better posture and overall strength
Keeps you moving with confidence and ease
Here are 2 gentle hip‑friendly movements you can try right from a chair.💛 For both exercises: sit tall, lightly engage your core (like you’re zipping up a tight pair of pants), and avoid leaning back — leaning back can compress the lower spine.
---
🪑 1. Seated Marching
Sit tall with your feet under your knees.
Zip up your core — like you’re pulling on a tight pair of pants.
Lift one knee toward your chest without leaning back.
Lower with control and switch sides.➡️ 10–12 per side.
🪑 2. Seated Hip Circles
Sit tall, core gently zipped up.
Lift your right knee a few inches.
Make small, slow circles with your knee — no leaning back.
Switch directions, then change legs.➡️ 8–10 circles each way per side.
