It wasn’t quite a storybook ending to the weekend, but the girls powered through some adversity like never before in this one.

With two girls competing in Track and Field (congrats to both AB and Ty, by the way, for KILLING IT!), another leading her IL HS team into the next round and a fourth was celebrating her graduation at the house of mouse in Florida. The Natty’s were already short-handed heading into this one, and we knew it.

Then came the injuries with those that could make it. A broken finger. A bad shoulder. And a morning surprise, food poisoning! Despite only having six healthy bodies the girls battled their tails off to grab the #1 seed out of pool and made a run to the semi-finals where we came up just short in a super competitive 7-inning contest. Too many excellent things to mention from a performance standpoint. The girls played great!

Most notable to this coach is just their overall grit. Grit is the #1 indicator of success. You can’t teach that, you can only hope to discover it along the way and use it to emphasize your skills. This team has that in spades and the arrow is pointing up!!

Great job ladies, great job.

Happy Mother’s Day Weekend, let’s play some ball!!

It’s a juggling prom kind of weekend! The Natty’s are set to take on the best clubs in STL this weekend! Although we’re navigating through five (yes, FIVE) different proms, the girls are prepared and ready to take on the challenge!

The weather didn’t cooperate today for a few friendly games but last weekend was great, so let’s focus on that!

The Natty’s found themselves finishing last weekends USA Cardinal Invite 3-3, making a run to the semi-finals before falling to the eventual champs. Definitely a benchmark team that we will measure ourselves against and someone I’m sure we’ll see again down the road.

Our team’s grit shined through once again as we played a bit short-handed and battled through some injuries to compete at a high level. Our fourth game Saturday against a new rival was a back and forth thriller, in which, we came up just short. In Bracket Play on Sunday, we rebounded nicely with a thrilling extra innings victory.

The pitchers shined all weekend and our hitters came up clutch when we needed them most. Seeing so many positive things to build on makes this coaches heart happy! While I wish we were playing this weekend, the mini-break will do us some good as a few recover with the time off.

Overall, very positive weekend! Special thanks to our two subs that helped keep us going on Saturday, you girls played awesome!!
