Pressure is a privilege. We must constantly apply pressure in training to lay the foundation for future success and future victories. The confidence gained in proper and consistent training will go a long way toward negating any adverse effects of anxiety before competition. However, this requires consistency and practice - leaving nothing to doubt.

Ring FLR (Front Leaning Rest) is a very underrated accessory / supplemental exercise and position for Trunk and Static Upper Body Strength. Trouble maintaining an upright position on the squat variations? Throw this into your supplemental routine. Start with 5x (1:00 minute) Rounds with your hands on the floor. When that gets easier, switch to the rings. Make sure your feet are the same height as your hands.

There are many components that go into a proper training program for speed. One crucial method at the center of speed work is overspeed eccentrics. This involves the use of bands specifically. The bands constitute extra kinetic energy and drive the load down faster than gravity alone. This builds reversal strength increasing the acceleration of the load in the eccentric phase of the movement - because force = mass x acceleration.

In isometric action the muscle tension changes while the length of the muscle remains constant. Isometrics will build strength 15 degrees in each direction, above and below the bar position.
