I love my husband so much!!! 🥰
In April 2024, I stepped on the scale and saw 193 lbs—the heaviest I had ever been. I remember feeling disappointed, disgusted, ashamed, exhausted, and even breathless. I couldn’t do the things I used to do. That moment hit me hard, but it also lit a fire inside of me. I knew I had to change, not just for my body, but for my spirit. I also had a wedding to get in shape for at the end of that year.
I started pushing myself—cleaning up my diet and working out with everything I had. Over the next 10 months, I lost 40 lbs, but it wasn’t easy. Along the way, I injured my knee from overtraining. The swelling and pain were constant, yet I kept pushing. Cortisone shots kept me moving, but later I found out the damage was serious—torn meniscus, moderate cartilage deterioration, and arthritis.
The doctor told me surgery wasn’t an option because the meniscus tear is located in an area with no blood supply so it wouldn’t heal. He that I limit my activity. That crushed me at first. But I refused to let it be the end of my story. I turned to God in prayer, asking Him for strength, healing, and direction. Through faith and determination, I’ve continued to workout carefully and keep moving forward—even with the setbacks and limitations.
If you’re at your breaking point, wondering if change is possible—it is. It’s never over or too late. Remember this: progress is possible. Healing is possible. And with faith, nothing is impossible. 🙌🏽

It’s been a few years since I’ve been on this track. Today I came back to where it all started during a time when we were all on lock down during Covid. I was 43 years young when I joined . This is where I experienced pain, frustration, challenges, exhaustion, injuries and tears, but I also experienced happiness, freedom, motivation, strength, determination and victory. I gained knowledge, skills, support, and most of all the best track kids and coach (my track family) I could ever train with. The good definitely outweighed the bad, and the things that I thought were bad at the moment, were actually good for me because it made me better.

On my birthday, I reflect on all of my blessings and I am thankful for each and every one of them. I get another chance to be here, to breathe, to choose my direction, and to love and be loved. All I want is to highlight the positive and offer the light I have to give. I want to make the most of this lifetime, so I’m grateful to God to have another year to do so. Happy Birthday to me!!!
