THE SEARCH FOR A SPACE OF SILENCE.
Vajont Veneto Italy. 2020

We observed that the limits between nature and human beings are diffuse: thoughts, movements and energy are in constant relation with natural elements. They are constantly touching each other. We want to consider this; we wanted to bring that observation into our images. Parallel to that consideration we looked into the Vajont case, and we noticed that its social and natural history (as in the case of the branch) goes beyond any possible definition at this particular moment. However, we assessed the intention to get closer to that territory through a statement: the rope on the image is a connection,
a touch between our project and the valley, but it’s also a capturing of energy for transformation. As the capturing of an orange, as the capture of water of a dam, we want to capture the elements of this territory to heal.
To achieve this, we want to take into account the surrounding (the Vajont territory) by considering the villages that has survived the catastrophe, by connecting them. To do it so the pavilion is represented as ‘nomadic’ structures that bind different layers of perspectives, spaces and energy forces from the area. The way to reach
those ‘pavilion’ spaces: at night there will be a place in one or both villages, they are the entrance. From here begins the travel to reach the pavilions. In the mountain you walk, you move your body. During this travel people relate with the surrounding, with the ‘mountain and its natural forces’. It can be absorbing. This is
the first important step before you can go into the silence of healing. The location of these pavilions will be according with findings related with healing and history that are yet to come. We are representing lines, guides, not concrete forms. For us is a connection with the history of a territory and the energy of human being ‘a movement’. An intersection between nature and culture:
a branch with its knots.

GROUND
Proposal for Staten island New York.

This park is created to reach an awareness and give people the space to embrace the more human scale of environments. The rocks are the excavations of the Water tunnels under the sea, the park hosts a variation of low structures in opposition to the Manhattan skyline. These buildings are mostly carved in the ground and constitute spaces for learning, sharing knowledge, sports and meditation. Surrounded by this landscape of rocks and vegitation this area welcomes the floods the changes of sea level, the horizon and the need for void in contact with the sea.
