Detox Tip of the Day - it’s great to look at cleansing as a whole body approach. If you are doing a juice cleanse or food based cleanse colon hydrotherapy or colonics is a great alternative therapy to incorporate as it provides a deeper level of cleansing. During your colon hydrotherapy session you will clear out old impacted waste matter from the colon walls. Colonics is a non evasive therapy and most people actually find it very relaxing. During your colon hydrotherapy session water gently flows into the re**um loosening up impacted waste and allowing waste and toxins to be released and removed from the body. #tbt I’ve been at this for a while. This was me 10 years ago teaching a raw vegan class at Whole Foods Market. At the time I was still working in corporate America and building my dream on the side at nights . I’m grateful to now be able to do this work full time since 2014. It hasn’t always been easy but it’s been worth it and I’ve been able to work and share with some really incredible people that I could only dream of.

Water is also essential in aiding the body in carrying out all of its necessary bodily functions. Drinking an adequate amount of water keeps things moving and it helps in moving waste and toxins out of the body. It also hydrates the body often times eliminating cravings that show up as hunger. I actually got started on my health and wellness journey because I was experiencing a host of issues. In 2005 I suffered really bad from allergies, acid reflux, low energy, weight gain, IBS and digestion issues. At that time I never made the correlation between the foods that I was eating and the things that I was experiencing until I started working with a naturopathic physician who introduced me to a plant based diet and pointed out the reasons why certain things were happening. That was a really big AHA moment for me. I then thought could it be that my grandparents are also sick because of their diet? Diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, IBS, Constipation.....could this be because of diet? What are your thoughts on diet contributing towards illness? It’s wellness Wednesday and today we are tackling constipation 💩. I know most people don’t want to talk about it but having regular bowel movements is important and critical to your health. If you are eating 3 times a day you should ideally be eliminating 3 times a day or at least 1 time per day minimum. If this not happening waste is staying inside of the body and getting pushed out into your cells and tissues and creating a toxic overload within the body. This toxic overload shows up as weight gain, skin breakouts, low energy, cravings, fatigue and so much more. Today’s tips are all about helping you with getting things moving along.

Ever try dry skin brushing? Wondering why you should start? Dry skin brushing is very useful during times of cleansing and detoxifying the body. It is also very useful as a daily practice. Skin brushing aids in improving circulation, and also minimizing and eliminating cellulite with daily use. It gently exfoliates the skin removing dead skin cells which aid in allowing toxins to easily be removed from the body. Dry skin brushing is ideal to do before you shower. If you are new to dry skin brushing you should gently brush upward on your skin towards the direction of your heart. A dry skin brush can be purchased from your local health food store.
