“Drinkin’ (a protein shake) every night because we drink to my accomplishments”

What I was most likely listening to on the way to prom that day😂

If you can do more than 10 reps with this weight — you’re not in a strength set anymore.

Most people think about training in three buckets.

Low reps, heavy weight — strength.

Moderate reps, moderate weight — size.

High reps, lighter weight — endurance.

That’s a start. But it’s incomplete.

Because once a weight is heavy enough in absolute terms — 225 on the bench, 405 on the trap bar — and you push past rep 10, your body shifts into a completely different gear.

Your muscles start burning through energy faster than they can replace it. Lactate builds. The burn you feel isn’t just fatigue — it’s your body fighting to keep producing force in an environment that’s working against it.

That’s lactic buffering. And it’s a trainable quality.

I’m competing at .official in Chicago end of June.

These two lifts haven’t been in my standard programming for a few months — so the next seven weeks are about getting technically efficient in both before I worry about anything else. That alone will move the needle on total reps come competition day.

Two training methods. Cluster sets on one day. AMRAP sets on the other.

Both targeting the primary and synergistic muscle groups for each lift.

Check out the infographic I posted for the full breakdown.

April in a nutshell.

Be a good person.
Be relentless.
Set your ego aside.
Surround yourself with people who challenge you for the better.

Life threw its challenges this month. It always does.

But going back through everything that happened — the people, the moments, the work — put a smile on my face.

Grateful for all of it. On to May. 🙏

All right, final Camp savage post of the week

The most valuable experiences for me couldn’t be captured on camera because they required my full presence

- listening to understand peoples journeys and the path that they are following

- asking questions to things I don’t have a full understanding of

- practicing vulnerability through words and actions with strangers and one of the most safest, supportive environments

- being a dawg

- using inspiration to fuel my own creative endeavors and so continue to reinforce to understanding of what is possible

The Experience 5K. That’s a wrap. 🏃

Saturday morning in Miami hit different.

Over 40 people showed up, laced up, and brought energy. The energy from the jump was exactly what we built this for — community revolving around movement, nutrition and Recovery

To every single person who came out — thank you. You made this what it was.

And to the people who made it possible:

— for showing up for our community the way you always do. Full outfit raffle + 25% off for every HYROX athlete and spectator. That’s love.

— for being the perfect home for The Experience. Brunch raffle, coworking voucher, and a space that felt like ours from the moment we walked in.

— for keeping everyone’s legs alive after the run. Recovery done right.

+ .supps — the fuel was clean, the bites were perfect, and nobody left hungry.

strength — this is what we’re building. Events like this are just the beginning.

This is what happens when a community decides to move together.

More coming. 🙏

I’ve been in the game for 17 years.

You’re looking for results, but you haven’t given it enough time or consistency yet.

What you do today won’t show up tomorrow.

But it will show up if you keep going.

Plant the seed already.
