We are sad to have to cancel our last GA walk due to the weather. We will be leaving our FB page and website available and will let you know how we are proceeding some time after the Holidays. We wish you and your hounds a very happy Holiday and a healthy 2017. We thank all of your for your participation and friendship over the past 12 years.

The first...well maybe the second...Greyhound Adventures walk in Sudbury. 30 greyhounds showed up and we thought it was a fluke. Turns out that would be the average number of greyhounds on each of our walks over the next 12.5 years. Quality is bad but remember, this was actually before our phones had cameras:-)

Over 75 Greyhounds paraded in their holiday best yesterday - we attracted a lot of attention as you can imagine!

A heartfelt thank you to those that participated in todays 12th annual JB walk benefitting The Greyhound Health Initiative.. A special thank you to Kelly Swartz, Stu Fried, and Ron Mesard for helping keep things safe and special recognition to Jean aka Grammies Jammies for her work and volunteerism for Greyhounds everywhere. Join us this Sunday at 10:00 a.m. for the 12th Annual Jingle Bell Walk in Boston beginning at the Swan Boat Dock in the Public Garden. Details can be found on our website. We will be collecting donations for the Greyhound Health Initiative to support their cancer treatment and research for greyhounds. The first 25 donators will receive a GHI decal! Tess the Greyhound missing in since 11-26 is safe!
It is not often that we get to see the actual moment of recovery - but here it is captured on video. Tess' family did all the right things, they remained quiet and did not push her. They allowed the very frightened girl to come to them at her own pace.

"Tess" is 4 yrs./60 lbs., Tan with white on paws. Lost while on a walk in the Gertrude M Boyden Wildlife Refuge off of Cohannet St. and Warner Blvd. She does have tags and has an ID tattoo. She SHY, DO NOT CALL OUT TO OR CHASE.

I have a 71/2 old male Greyhound and I sometimes go away on week-ends. Most of the time, I take him with me but on some occasions (2 coming), I need a house sitter for him or someone who understands Greyhounds to board him. I have a young lady who does it for me occasionally but I would prefer a Greyhound person. He is a very easy dog but can’t spend the night alone in the house—he gets very anxious. Do you know anyone near Wellesley who either boards Greyhounds or would be willing to house sit? Could you pass this message on to your members?

I’ve done a few walks with you but I am usually away on week-ends.

For those who don't know a lot about the galgos we are collecting goods for this month, this is a great article that speaks to the fate of many of these pups. We are still collecting donations.

Last call for donations for Scooby. Looking for gently used collars, leashes and harnesses as well as medical supplies such as vet wrap and bandages. (No medications or liquids please) You can bring them Sunday to our walk at Pond Meadow or mail them to P.O. Box 80224, Stoneham, MA 02180. Thanks to all that have already contributed.
