Journey to Bird of Paradise workshop

Saturday January 28th | 2-3:20pm

Bird of Paradise (Svarga Dvidasanas). Dvija means “twice born” and Svarga means “paradise” or “heaven.” The aim of this asana is to experience the depth of paradise and renewal within the body by emulating the shape of a tropical flower, the Bird of Paradise. Few asanas re-create such a beautiful, natural image. As your body unfolds in
this demanding balance, your extended leg creates a powerful, energizing spark that keeps you lifted. The pose requires integrity of form and strength, while opening you up
to vulnerability, like a flower.

This workshop will begin with an opening flow focusing on shoulder and hip flexibility; preparing the body for our peak pose, leaving plenty of time to practice before cooling down and taking a well deserved extended savasana.

Come and explore this beautiful asana in a supportive and playful environment, where learning to fall is part of the fun! Find strength, balance and confidence as we work towards expanding the upper body and extending the leg.

Yoga Moves Winter Recorded Meditation Series:
9 Winter Weeks of Weekly Restorative Meditation Journey

Begins January 10, 2023

With shorter (and in some places, colder) days, the winter season allows us the opportunity for deep rest to replenish and nurture our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual selves. Let us join together for a collective pause as we gently provide the provisions we need for nourishment and renewal by engaging in a series of reclined meditations* through the winter.

Reclined meditation journeys can provide the reset our beings need to support our overall health and prepare for the more active seasons of spring and summer.

Details:

•The winter series runs from January 10 through March 7, 2023
•This series offers 9 recorded meditations meant to be practiced in a reclined position *and will range from 20-30 minutes; occasional bonus (seated) meditations will be included
• No experience necessary; seasoned and new meditators welcome
•Your weekly recorded meditations will arrive in your email box from Judy at [email protected] the morning of the expected date (1/10 - 3/7/23)
•A poem will accompany your meditation
•Resources will be included when available
•You will have ongoing access to your teacher, Judy Bousquin

Consistency is KEY when it comes to your self care & health!

Tip for staying consistent with your health: Every Sunday make a To Do’s list for the week and schedule 3 days to workout, do yoga, or go for a walk! Putting it in your schedule ensures you make time for your health and don’t let the days get away from you!

Tips for staying consistent with Self Care: choose one day a week, give yourself an hour and do something that makes you feel good! Ex: Massage, facial, bath, mediate, journal ect… Put it on your schedule so you have a visual to put this time aside!
