Red Acre Farm

Red Acre Farm is a small family owned farm with a focus on emerging and seasoned equestrian riders. For 25 years, Kathy & Mitch Steege have worked to teach riders, in the hunter and jumper discipline, the art of horsemanship in a safe and nurturing environment.

Their biggest asset is their committed and dedicated staff. These people help to make Red Acre a unique environment, one where horses and riders receive consistent attention each and every day. The farm boasts two spacious outdoor riding rings, a 70' x 175' all-weather indoor arena, paddocks for daily turn out and 34 stalls. Red Acre Farm is located in Stow, Massachusetts with easy access to route 2 and 495.

All smiles after an amazing first day of IEA Zone Finals! Congrats, ladies! Can’t wait for tomorrow!!! πŸŽ‰πŸ΄

[10/09/17]   🐴Another Red Acre home IEA Show is in the books! As always, we could not put on this day without an amazing amount of help and this year was no exception. I was overwhelmed by not only the support we received from our own riders, parent volunteers, and extended Red Acre family, but the other teams that stepped up to horse hold, set jumps and lend a hand throughout the day. Please know that these shows would not work without the whole group effort. Kissed our horses and ponies a little extra tonight-and just an added bonus- High School Team was Champion! πŸŽ‰πŸ΄

Great start to the IEA season! Emma and Sophia move up to Open flat and take first and second with a work off!

We are set and ready for our 8th annual Horse Show to Benefit the Decibels Foundation! Thanks to all the volunteers who helped get the farm set up and the horses clean and beautiful for tomorrow!

Red Acre had a fun weekend at MHC Finals! It was a successful outing for all. The week started with Annie and Sully having respectable younger adult rounds and just missing the seasons round. Sully did a gray job getting Annie back in the ring! Next up was Abigail and Buster in the Jr Medal. Abigail had a great round and just missed making it back! This was her first indoor finals and she rode wonderfully! Finally, on Mini Medal Sunday the girls had some fantastic trips! In the open class Emma was 4th with Holy Moly and Caroline 6th with Ollie. Moving on to the Medal Mia and Oz had a respectable first time ever at a finals, Emma and Holy Moly had a top 20 finish at 16th and Caroline piloted Ollie to a 4th place finish overall!! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸŽ‰. We had some amazing riding this weekend and the horses were perfect! This was a great start to all of our riders careers at finals in the future!

Team Red Acre had a great week at the NHHJA summer festival last week! Some of the highlights included: Caroline and All That winning the pony Derby, Leap of Faith was short stirrup and suitable hunter champion with Virginia and Chloe, Me First was Short Stirrup Champion and walk trot champion with Lauren and Caroline. Oli won a pre children's Eq class with Mozart and had other great placing a through the week. Claire and By Design teamed up for the first time showing and had great ribbons all week in the pre children's classes. Lex Luther and Caroline Lavin won an open Eq class, Abigail and Moulin Rouge won a children's hunter class and was reserve Champion.
