The Limited Late Models got rained out last weekend, but we’re still going to talk about them…
Spencer Conrad will have to wait a little while longer to see if he will be crowned the 2026 champion. He entered this season as the runner up in the 2025 Modified series champion as a rookie. Racking in three victories in that division last season and narrowly missing out on the championship, he was poised to make a splash in the Limited division.
Conrad’s 14 point lead over veteran Doug Warren, is just enough to keep the championship interesting. Both drivers have had their hiccups on the season to make this championship unpredictable. With the top five drivers all having wins this season, it hasn’t been a season short of excitement.
Warren has rebounded this season after a down 2025 year. He finished last year off in eighth place with zero wins. This year, he’s got himself a win, and has ran in the top five just about every week. Warrens going to need 16 cars minimum to show up, win the race, and have Conrad finish dead last, to win the championship by one single point. It’s a long shot, but it’s still possible.
Outside of the championship picture, Jacob Derrick had himself a career year. Had a disagreement with the track opening night after a controversial call, went to South Boston, then came back home to put up 10 wins on the year. Had he not missed a couple races, he would’ve ran away with this championship. Though, his team and himself looked at the bigger picture in sight… the division two national championship. A late season push to gather as many points as possible, put Derrick in a tie with first place. Heading into the final weeks of points, Derrick put together strong finishes, to put him four points ahead to win the division two national title.
