Big T 150 Charity Golf Tournament

Congratulation to Maddox Brix. This years Taylor Burdette Scholarship winner. Maddox will be attending Mars Hill University and playing football. This young man stood out as someone Taylor would be best friends with. He has a special relationship with his sister just like Taylor did with Hannah. We wish Maddox all the best in the coming years.

2022 Interviews for Taylor's scholarship are complete! Now onto Honors night this Monday. This is the 15th year of giving out scholarships. Whew!

Another successful awards night. Due to Covid, we could not present the scholarships at Honors Night for North Gwinnett High School. So we conspired with the parents and surprised each winner at Ippolitos in Suwanee Town Center. Thanks go out to Annamae Hirshmann, Cindy Kieley Skibitsky, Dick Cunningham and the parents for making it a special night for our winners. They were totally shocked. Congratulations to Kaya Holmes, Mallory O'Brien and Garrett Hinton for winning this years Taylor Burdette Scholarship. You all are most deserving. Taylor would have been proud to see such fine people winning this award in his honor. Sharon and I could not be more happier. Good luck in your next stage in life. I know each of you will be successful in your endeavors. Dave and Sharon.

ps, I received an award too. Marc Cohen of the North Gwinnett Schools Foundation board of trustees presented me with the Gay and Cecil Gober Legacy Award named in honor of the principal founders of the NGSF. The award is given to someone who embodies the principles of the foundation and gives selflessly to the community. I am extremely humbled and honored to have been considered for this award. If it were not for this community supporting my family and I since Taylor's passing, none of this would be possible. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Meet this year's winners of Taylors Scholarship. Will Long and Anamae Hirschmann. Both are incredible students. Will is going to UGA. Anamae is going to Georgia Southern. Due to social distancing and the cancellation of honors night we surprise them at Suwanee town center with the scholarships. Special thanks to Bailey Ulp and Carter Cross for rallying all of the people in the part to witness this event. It was a special day.
