Day 2 - Trust Your Instincts - Your individual intuition is an extremely powerful tool that is deeply encoded into your DNA. If a situation or person makes you feel uneasy, trust your gut instincts. If something doesn't look right or feel right, there is very likely something not right. Don't ignore red flags or dismiss your feelings as paranoia. Your intuition could be signaling a genuine threat.

Spring has sprung. A great time for Spring Cleaning and for refreshing your level of awareness and safety. Over the next several days, we will be posting important strategies to reduce risk to yourself, and to reduce the likelihood of becoming a target for a criminal or predator.
Day 1 - Stay Informed: Knowledge is your first line of defense. Educate yourself. Seek out podcasts or publications that discuss criminal minds and predatory actions. Understand predator methodology to recognize warning signs. Share your knowledge with friends and loved ones. Have conversations about security and safety awareness, risk, and talk through scenarios. Go through "What if..." scenarios in your mind. Think through what you would fo if [pick an incident] happened. Sharing that knowledge increases awareness and reduces risk. If knowledge = Power, then Knowledge SHARED = Power SQUARED.

In a day where a FedEx driver will kidnap and murder a baby girl from her own home, everyone needs to read and take heed of this!
Please be on alert every day and look out for one another.
If you see children at the bus stop with no adult around, stand in your yard or park nearby until they are safe on the bus.
If you see a mother distracted putting her groceries in the car, wait for a moment before exiting your car and watch her back.
If you are with a group of friends, and you see a woman walking to her car alone, es**rt her to the vehicle.
Too much is happening now, and we have to look out for one another. It takes a village. Let's come together and be the village! ♥️

"A missionary serving in the Alabama Birmingham Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is hospitalized in serious but stable condition after he was shot multiple times on Friday evening, December 3, 2021.
Elder Michael Fauber, 18, of Dayton, Ohio, was in the Birmingham Stake Center in Vestavia Hills with two other missionaries and a group of people interested in learning more about the Church. A weekly athletic activity was being held and basketball was being played in the cultural hall. At approximately 8:30 p.m., Elder Fauber spoke with an unknown individual who came into the building during the activity. A few moments later, Elder Fauber was shot multiple times. The shooter then fled.
Elder Fauber was taken to UAB Hospital in Birmingham and has undergone surgery. His parents are arriving to the hospital this afternoon. Other missionaries in the building were not physically hurt but are receiving counseling. The Church is cooperating with law enforcement and is awaiting additional details from investigators.
Our prayers are with this missionary, his family and all the missionaries and others impacted by this senseless act of violence."
