I DISAGREE. IT’S A GAME OF MILLIMETERS.

A fraction of an inch can be the difference between a home run and a pop-up. A line drive and a ground ball. Hard contact and a swing and miss.

The smallest adjustments can produce the biggest results.

That’s why we focus on the details. Every swing. Every rep. Every adjustment.

The little things aren’t little in baseball.

⚾️💥 JACK IS BACK! 💥⚾️

After taking some time off, Jack stopped in for a lesson at McDevitt Hitting, and he didn’t miss a beat!

We focused on staying in his legs using the BOSU ball and step-back drills, while incorporating the yoga block to help control his forward movement.

Jack did an outstanding job maintaining his posture, staying balanced, and driving the baseball with authority! 💪⚾️

Great work today, Jack! Keep working hard and ENJOY THE LASERS! 🚀💣

⚾🧹 WHO SAYS YOU NEED A BAT TO WORK ON YOUR SWING?

THE BROOM DRILL — STAY INSIDE THE BASEBALL! 💪

Sometimes the simplest tools can teach some of the most important lessons in hitting!

At McDevitt Hitting, we use a broom to demonstrate one of the most important fundamentals of a good swing: keeping your hands short and direct to contact while staying inside the baseball.

🎯 WHAT ARE WE TEACHING?

⚾ Stay Inside the Ball – Keep your hands working inside the baseball instead of casting them away from your body.

⚾ Short to Contact – Take the most efficient path to the ball. No unnecessary movement or long, looping swings.

⚾ Proper Hand Path – Learn how the hands work toward contact while allowing the barrel to follow.

⚾ Better Barrel Control – A more efficient swing gives hitters a better opportunity to square up pitches consistently.

💡 THE BIGGEST TAKEAWAY:

Short to the ball doesn’t mean short through the ball!

We want our hitters to stay connected, get their hands into a strong position, and deliver the barrel through the hitting zone.

You don’t need fancy equipment to teach good mechanics. Sometimes all you need is a broom and an understanding of how the swing works!

Two drills. Two different feels. Same goal. ⚾️

We’re using Closed 45° and Open 45° stance drills to challenge the hitter from two completely different positions.

🔹 Closed 45° — stay closed longer, control the front side, stay inside the baseball and stop pulling off.

🔹 Open 45° — work on rotation, separation and sequencing while keeping the body and barrel connected.

The starting positions are exaggerated for a reason. We’re teaching the hitter to control the body, sequence the swing and deliver the barrel consistently.

Get on plane early. Stay on plane longer.

I need someone who does embroidery as well as regular print. The last three companies I used had a hard time getting the order right. Loved the products but the order was consistently wrong. Need a company that can do multiple items and take pride in getting it right. Shoot me a DM. Thank you!
