That is one of the biggest lessons field sales taught me.

When you sell contracts, consumables, service agreements, renewals, and long-term relationships, you cannot hide behind a clever close.

The customer sees the truth every week.

Did you understand their operation? Did you solve the real problem? Did you set clear expectations? Did the service team deliver? Did the account feel cared for after the sale? Did you show up when something went wrong?

That is where trust becomes revenue.
