Sorry for the late post. Emotions have been running high lately, and our family needed to step back from racing for a little while. This footage is from our last points race.
We finally had the Lt160 dialed in, and the car was showing some real speed. Maddox started P8 in his heat race and worked his way up to P5. Thanks to the invert, that put him on the pole for the A Main.
When the green flag dropped, the field charged into Turn 1. Another driver attempted an aggressive move for the lead without having the space, making it three-wide on the very first lap. The contact sent Maddox into the outside car, and both cars slammed into the wall. As the rest of the field came around, there was nowhere to go, and the crash escalated. Maddox’s car turned over, suffering extensive damage.
Through it all, Maddox showed incredible heart. The very first thing he asked me when I reached him was, “Can I finish the race?” It broke my heart to tell him that his axle had snapped off and been shoved up into the engine, ending his day. He was absolutely devastated.
Racing can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be unbelievably tough. We’re proud of how Maddox handled such a difficult moment, and we’ll get the car repaired, learn from it, and come back stronger.
In the Senior Animal, Maddox started P3 in the heat race and finished P3. He made some great moves to maintain his position.
This kept him in the P3 spot for the A Main. Maddox made some mistakes and ended up finishing P5.
All in all, we’re getting these cars faster, and Maddox is showing tremendous perseverance. We are extremely proud of him.

Last weekend we made our first trip to WQMA - Washington Qtr. Midget Association for their Talladega Nights Fun Race, and what a weekend it was! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the incredible facility and welcoming atmosphere. The track was fast, the racing was exciting, and the kids had an absolute blast. WQMA has built something special for young racers, and it’s easy to see why so many families love racing there. Safe to say it’s already become one of our favorite tracks, and we can’t wait to come back! Here’s a video of our time there!

💥💥 Race Day Results! 💥💥
It was another double-header weekend for our crew! Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans on Saturday, and the races were canceled due to rain.
Sunday, however, was game time!

Heat Race: Started P5 ➡️ Finished P4
Re*****on is still building confidence when it comes to making passes, but he’s making progress every time he hits the track.
A-Main: Started P1 ➡️ Finished P1 🏆
Another WIN for Re*****on! He had nearly a full lap lead over second place, but with the checkered flag in sight, he started backing it down a little too much. What looked like a comfortable victory quickly turned into a nail-biter that came down to a bumper at the line! Lesson learned: keep that foot planted until the yellow flag flies!

We’re definitely fighting the setup right now, especially with the LT160. Maddox continues to do his job behind the wheel, but we’re still working to give him the car he deserves. Racing is a constant learning process, and we’re taking every lesson we can.
Special thanks to Colby Gates for staying with us after the race and going through an entire setup for the Lt160. He’s a wizard when it comes to Nervo setups and we’ll definitely be keeping his number on speed dial!

Re*****on is only 5, but he showed some serious heart this past weekend!
He fell asleep in staging, woke up crying and throwing a fit because he didn’t want to race, and had us thinking his day was over. But once the helmet went on and the green flag dropped, he flipped the switch.
He raced hard, made some awesome passes, showed his confidence is coming back, and almost pulled off the win. So proud of this kid for digging deep and proving what he’s made of. 🏁🔥
