Hey Everybody,
Now is the time of year when we start organizing one of the coolest events EASL participates in, the Tulane Professional Sports Negotiation Competition. In the past, we have participated in the NFL and MLB competitions. This year, we will also try to send a team to the NBA competition.
In short, these events are competitions using real-life player statistics, team budgets, and league collective bargaining rules to reach a contract for a player. One team will represent the player's agent and the other team will represent the team that is trying to resign the player. Law students from around the country participate in this event, and it is a great opportunity to develop practical skills in negotiation. The events are also judged by industry professionals, so it is a great networking opportunity for those interested in Sports Law.
Right now, we are trying to gauge students' interest in each event. We are still trying to determine how to allocate funding and how many teams/which events we want to send teams for. If you would like to participate, please fill out this form, and you will be emailed instructions on try-outs at a later date. Please let us know if you are interested by Wednesday, October 27.
If you have any questions, please email [email protected] or text 904-537-2795. Thanks, and we are looking forward to putting together teams for these events!
Tulane Sports Law Society Negotiation Competitions PLEASE READ: Thank you for your interest in the Negotiation Competitions put on by Tulane Sports Law Society. There are three events we are looking to send students to this year, the baseball, football, and basketball negotiation competitions. As of now, these events will be held early next semester...
