Longest ride in a while… it felt great to dust the cobwebs off! 🕸️ 🚲 I told Nora when I got home that towards the end, while climbing a hill, I stood and my legs started to cramp… it was like being greeted by an old friend and I had to grin while grimacing 😏

Buddy: But I need to sell my bike first.
Me: Sold!!
2 days later… the morning sunlight comes shining thru the tall oaks & Spanish moss just north of Tallahassee. Great day to be in the saddle!!!!

It’s truly become a family affair 🤣 🚲🐶 Mando makes a great “stupervisor” of course and he’ll be even happier when we start taking him with us on some neighborhood rides once it cools down 😎 and trees still down from storms and Idalia a few weeks back as you can see but happy to be able to get out and enjoy the ride now! ⛈️☀️

Nora added some cherries to our post-ride Sunrise Shack Smoothie Bowl (from Plant Over Processed by )and topped with Goji berries and almond slivers 🤤 this is one of my favorites for its anti-inflammatory properties - made with turmeric! But I think she outdid herself with the addition of the cherries which are some of my favorite training/recovery foods. With the addition of the vanilla protein powder, these smoothies have a nice balanced ratio of nutrients to keep my blood sugars balanced and initiate proper recovery - and they taste AMAZING 🤩 also perfect for watching todays
stage 🚴🏽 😜

It’s not what it seems 😂 Active recovery is an important part of training and after yesterdays “more active” recovery, we’re going for a legit version with stretching and yoga today. Supervision and form correction by of course 😎

Batten down the hatches! Pre run and the morning sunrise didn’t disappoint - as the saying goes, “Red sky at night, sailors’ delight; Red sky in the morning, sailors warning” (pic 2 🙃). Thanks for the run, Jamie!
