My Journey

As soon as I took my first Barre class I was hooked. My friend Mary Beth Woodward inspired me with her passion for teaching and I became devoted to her class. I went to every class she offered and couldn’t get enough Barre. I became certified and grew as an instructor with her help. I started subbing in 2017, started my first class teaching in April of 2018 and now teach 8-12 Barre classes a week. I teach at local gyms, dance studios, schools, large group events, and do personalized in home classes for those looking to exercise in the comfort of their own home.

I have taken Barre classes all over the country for the past year gaining a plethora of knowledge from dozens of instructors. This has helped me create my own unique choreography for students of all levels. Athletes, exercise enthusiast, new moms, active agers, people with recent injuries, all benefit from a Barre workout. Movements can begin with ease and progress to the desired level. This workout is appropriate for all ages, body types, ability, and gender. It is a great way to strengthen you legs and endurance if you are a runner, skier, dancer, etc..

Careful consideration is given to protect all areas of the body, especially spine and knees. Attention to proper alignment and form are key to having a successful workout. This is a low impact, full body workout that strengthens your core and stability while lengthening and sculpting your muscles. A yoga mat, pilates ball, resistance bands, gliders, and chair, counter, or barre for stability are equipment that may be used during this work out.

I have continued my Barre journey and progressed in the fitness world by becoming certified in Yoga and Aqua Fitness. These classes will be added soon including Aqua Barre and Barre Yoga combo class. My journey will not end there..... I learn something new everyday and will continue to do so!
