John 8:58- “‘Very truly I tell you,’ Jesus answered, ‘before Abraham was born, I am!’”
Jesus wasn’t simply saying that He existed before Abraham. He was revealing something much deeper about His identity. The name “I AM” points us back to Exodus 3, when God revealed Himself to Moses. Jesus was making it clear that He is eternal. He wasn’t merely a teacher who appeared in history. He is God. And that truth changes everything.
If Jesus is truly who He says He is, then we can trust Him with our lives.
We can trust His promises, His character, when we don’t understand, and we can trust Him when our circumstances change.
Our joy doesn’t have to come from having everything figured out. Our joy can come from knowing the One who does.
Prayer:
Jesus, You are the great I AM. Thank You that You are eternal, unchanging, and completely trustworthy. Help me build my life on who You are rather than on what is happening around me. May knowing You become the source of my joy. Amen.
