Just a few days after International Women's Day, it is devestating to hear a legislator completely disregard testimoney of a female constituent and display his utterly hypocrtical nature.
Arizona Sen. Contreras claims that is someone is scared, he or she should just stay home. This is not only condecending, but a complete and total dismissal of the natural right to self-protection.
Our legislators should be empowering both men and women to defend themselves and walk proudly where they want to go. Especially in the case of Lauren, our brave delegate who has spoken up. She has lived through traumatic incidents and was born with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
This man claims to be a gun owner, but he shows his true colors and attitude towards both the Second Amendment and his constituents here. Thank you Lauren, for standing up and speaking the TRUTH!

Grizzled internet warriors angrily trembled in their Tidy-Whities from mom’s basement while nashing their teeth, clutching their pearls, scolding me for such tomfoolery being taught, and decried it as blasphemy, unrealistic, and terribly unsafe.
One of their several reasons to agitate was because I dared to advocate natural movement to the side, which can include “crossing” the feet.
How dare I?!
Because “NO real athlete EVER crosses their feet…”
Pfft.
Even though such a tactic ensured I escaped injury or possibly worse at least once before…

As I readied for the day, made coffee and loaded the truck for the drive, I listened to the live feed of the 9/11 victims name being read at the 9/11 Memorial.
Memories of that day flashed through my mind, as vivid today as the moments when watching live TV as the second plane headed towards the South Tower. Even before the impact, I knew we were going to war.
As the names continued, spoken by the loved ones of the victims, tears flowed freely, especially when loving, heart-wrenching short commentary was added to an individual's name by a widow, a sister, a son, father, and other loved ones of the name that was just read off.
Heart-aching names and words spoken with such love, sorrow, and longing by loved ones.
Throughout the drive from far south of Phoenix to far north of the city, the names continued on. An entire ocean of concrete and asphalt flashed by for almost two hours while the names rolled and tears dripped.
America changed that day. 9/11 was the Pearl Harbor of my generation, driving us into war, violence, loss, deep pains and great triumphs, changing lives and our nation in ways few amongst us could have ever imagined.
I sometimes fear we as a nation could forget what happened that day and why the names were read and remembered so poignantly today.
It certainly seems that way a good amount of the time, based on the mainstream media of today, of many of our politicians, when speaking to the youth of today who collectively seem to know too little of that day, and based on America's current standing in the world since Jan. 20th, 2021.
BUT...I don't believe the quiet majority of America has really forgotten. Here's an explanation of that thought.
I foresee grave dangers coming for America. Our current Executive office holder and assosicated politicians allowed America to lose the War On Terror, while also massively arming multiple enemies with the best war technologies and weaponry in world history.
We are now no longer fighting terror outside our shores, thus it will now come to our shores with violence that will dwarf 9/11, and because we have shown such extreme political weakness as of late, even our more passive non-friends and absolute sworn enemies are now emboldened to take destructive actions against both the US and against those we would traditionally protect or are sworn to protect by treaty. Their chance to run amok is now, and the sooner they do so before the next election, the better for them and the more likely they will get away with whatever evil mischief they want to do.
When the day comes when America is attacked again on our own shores or a larger group of Americans are massacred overseas - a sad thing I believe is likely to happen before the next Presidential election - we will see the same quiet, giant American spirit come vibrantly and ferociously alive, the same as Dec. 8th, 1941 and that so many of us personally felt and saw in each other on September 12th, 2001.
The seemingly distracted attention span of today's America and of many of our current politicians who seem to have somehow forgotten the lessons of 9/11 and of America's exceptionalism will fade again once the next big attack happens.
We will see the indomitable American patriotic spirit burst out and burn brightly, and the America we all know resides deeply in us all will again undeniably show itself.
America is a great nation, the greatest ever and blessed by God beyond any other nation despite our historical and current warts and follies, and that American spirit is there and alive.
Though often quiet...our next 9/11 will bring it gasping back to life once again.
May God still bless this nation - this experiment in Liberty - and may He bless us as a people, and may we never forget Him and those victims from this tragic, infuriating day twenty years ago.
