Today may not have ended with a “W” on the scoreboard, but there were plenty of wins happening on that field.

We hit the ball. We took some balls to the body. We stole bases. We made plays in the field. And most importantly, we kept getting better.

Across 3 games, we put up 21 runs — and that alone shows just how much these girls are progressing in such a short amount of time.

Fall ball is all about learning. New rules, new situations, new game IQ, and figuring out how to put all those pieces together.

We may not have everything figured out yet, but we’re learning, improving, and getting better with every game.

Can’t wait to see where this group is by spring.

The wins will come. Right now, we’re building something. 🩵🤍

Happy Birthday, Coach Walt!

The original first base coach of the Wolfe Pack! The guy standing at first, hyping the girls up, reminding them where they’re going, and making sure they GET. TO. THE. BASE!

He’s always encouraging, cheering, coaching, and probably questioning his life choices at least once a tournament. 😂

We’re so thankful for everything you do for these girls!

Hope you have the best birthday, Coach Walt as you spend the day practicing with this crazy group!

Swing for a Cure-THMSA would like to thank everyone that participated in the 16th Annual Swing for a Cure tournament. This year we raised $49,433 (new all time record)! This brings the total raised over the past 16 years to $407,232!!!

We look forward to disbursing the proceeds to our recipients! We will be contacting them very soon! This would not have been possible without all of the teams including every player, coach, family member, umpire, and volunteer!

There are so many people to thank for these two amazing weekends of softball.

Thank you to the THMSA board members including Jeff Jacso, Kyle Arnold, Matt Austin, Val Lewis, Natalie Lewis, Angela Tanner, Anastasia Newman, Ron Miller, Whitney Jeffers and Adam Wolfe. There were many weeks of preparation for this tournament lead by this team of volunteers.

A special thank you Anastasia Newman and Angela Tanner for their countless hours put into this tournament. This was not only during the tournament but for many months leading up to it.

Thank you to Jim Haley for his work as our UIC again this year. Fields were covered with umpires both weekends and several of the umpires donated games back to the cause!

We also had many local businesses help in different ways from donations to the silent auction to monetary donations!

Thanks again to everyone that was a part of Swing for a Cure this year! We are already looking forward to Swing for a Cure 2026!

What a weekend at the ball field! And when these girls weren’t playing, they were in the stands cheering on their “big sis” Briley and the older OutKast girls! Over 20 hours at the ball field for several of them.

5 games. 3 days. 2 wins. LOTS of growth.

The girls finished 2-3 on the weekend and while they didn’t bring home the tournament win, they showed us plenty of reasons to be excited about this team. There’s work to do, but the improvement is showing—and this team is going to be something to watch come spring!

Pitchers: Every pitcher got mound time and combined for 32 strikeouts! Several are just getting started with lessons, and two are adjusting to new pitching instructors. They’re putting in the work, making adjustments, and getting better every time out.

At the plate: Lots of balls put in play, hit-by-pitches, and some serious patience with plenty of walks.

On the bases: 24 stolen bases! These girls were RUNNING.

But honestly, our favorite part of the weekend wasn’t found on the scoreboard.

It was the “YOU GOT THIS!”, the high fives, the cheering from the dugout, and the way they picked each other up after the tough moments.

They’re learning the game. They’re learning how to compete. And they’re learning how to be a TEAM.

The work continues. The growth is happening. And this OutKast team is just getting started.

These girls are LEARNING, and it’s SHOWING!

Several took the mound for the first time over the last two days and absolutely ROCKED it! Staying in the box, battling at the plate, making plays, and pulling out TWO wins!

The growth. The confidence. The fight.

And we’re not done yet… back at it tomorrow!
