Two days ago I woke up to an email from (aaaaaaaand lots of texts, msgs etc from friends and the social media 🌎) telling me & all of you to sign up for IMTX 2027 🤠 Have you? 😜 Then I opened YouTube (swipe right), and there I was again 😱😀🙈 … pretty darn cool 😀👍
I know Ironman could have chosen anyone, so this kind of like winning lottery just without the 💰😂
So why not see if “Anything Is Possible” and maybe will decide to respond to this AND give me a free entry to next years “party on the Hardy” aka IMTX 2027 🤠
What do you guys think? It would be my 9th Ironman Texas since 2016, and nice little gesture from Ironman, wouldn’t it?
Like, comment, share - lets see if we can make it happen 🙏

Recovery Rant🚨🆘🚨
I don’t want to preach, but my social media algorithm since IMTX seems to want to show me “hero” athletes that apparently believe recovery is overrated 😡
And guess what - depending on how your race went, especially at the Ironman distance, you may or may not be physically sore, but you are most definitely fatigued regardless your age, gender, athletic background or your level. Whether your race went well or not, you may be excited to keep building , to keep improving, to keep driving but guess what - your hormones, your muscles, your mind don’t care! We are all depleted whether we think we are or not. 🤷🏻♀️
👉Recovery takes courage!
👉Recovery doesn’t mean you are lazy!
👉Recovery will actually help your next performance IF you have the confidence to take it!
👉Recovery not only minimizes future risk of physical injury or burnout BUT it also then enables you to absorb training (post recovery period).
It doesn’t mean you have to sit on the couch🛋️ and do nothing, BUT you certainly shouldn’t be doing any structured sessions, not to mention intervals, and the list goes on in the week after the event. Go for an easy/short float, or spin, walk - running is definitely the most tricky post IM and has the highest injury risk so tread carefully.
We are all different and my personal recovery looked a lot different and took a long longer after my first Ironman vs my 20th ironman but I will always take time to recover and I hope you do too!
Social media is cool and all but please do NOT try to just copy what someone else does. Find yourself a coach you trust and listen to, have a plan, communicate and please - be smart because contrary to popular believe, none of us are robots!
Rant over🧘🏻♀️

Ironman Texas #8 is in the books!
1st AG, 5th overall amateur & amateur bike course record (I think) - not bad for an 👵🏻😉
My preparation was rocky but turns out that “less is more” approach combined with smart training methods, patience & coach/rehab team that you trust works 😉 you are da man! 🙏
Shorter overall build, more swimming, similar cycling approach, but very limited running thanks to some 👵🏻 lady achilles issues meant I was quite nervous race morning because 26.2 miles is far!
The short of it :
I am embarrassed about my 🏊♀️, happy with the 🚴🏻♀️ (yes - I rode clean) , and thrilled about my 🏃🏻♀️ after the limkted running but so excited with how the additional strength training under the watchful eye of at worked out! 🙏🙏🙏
My legs hate me right now, but I secretly love it because it means I did it right 😀
If you want the actual 🏊♀️🚴🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️ details , drop a comment below and I’ll do so over the next few days 🤠

I just realized tomorrow it will be almost 10 years since I did my very first IM Texas back in 2016 😳
Everything looked a bit different then (swipe right to pic #3 🤠) but also exactly the same.
This lead up was far from perfect, but are they ever? I am ready to go and just as excited to see just how well I can put all the Ironman puzzle pieces 🏊♀️🚴🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️⛽️together tomorrow 🧩🤠

Last mid distance 🚴🏻♀️✅ checking the race set up!
Finally put the Zipp Speed dancing 👠 on with new race tires 🤤, my og Surpas , speedy aero ⛑️ which feels amazing on new Wove saddle, and 3h went by in a blink of an eye!
It was humid 🥵, it was toasty 🔥, it was windy 💨, it was sunny ☀️, it cooled off and it was pouring rain 🙄🌧️ all in that time - welcome to spring in Texas ✌️
P.S. It’s amazing how much faster the race set up is vs the usual slow tires & less shallow wheels. Bring on next weekend 🤠
