There is something special about the start of a new season.

Fresh starts, early mornings, familiar faces, and that feeling you only get when race season is back.

We’re beyond excited for our season opener at Lake Perris and for the beginning of another year of racing, growth, and unforgettable moments. It feels like coming home.

We can’t wait to reunite with our amazing community the riders, families, volunteers, and friends who make this league what it is. The memories we’ve built together mean everything, and we’re ready to make many more.

Here’s to the start of a new season and the return of something we all love.

SkyPark our presenting sponsor of the first race of the season will be at Lake Perris next month.

At the event, SkyPark will be offering annual SkyPark passes for $99, the lowest price available all year. There is no limit to the number of passes an individual may purchase, making this a great opportunity for athletes and families to plan ahead and take advantage of this exclusive event-only promotion.

This offer will be available on site at the Lake Perris race. We encourage all riders and families to spread the word and come prepared to take advantage of this special pricing.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the start of the season.

The Return of State Championships

In 2019, the SoCal League hosted what we believed would be the final California High School Cycling State Championships. At the time, both Southern and Northern California leagues had grown so large that the logistical challenges of bringing everyone together became too great.

Welcome to the 2026 California State Championships

The Southern California High School Cycling League proudly invites ALL 6th–12th grade student-athletes residing in California to join us for a weekend of camaraderie, fun, and high-level competition.

Together, we will celebrate everything that makes youth cycling special and determine which riders and teams earn the title of Fastest in the Golden State.

Event Eligibility & Format

State Championships is an OPEN event

All student-athletes residing in or attending school (including homeschool) in California during 2026 are eligible

Athletes do not need to be registered for a league season to participate

All registered athletes are covered under the SoCal League’s industry-leading insurance policy

Championship Categories

Racing categories are based on the most universal standard across youth cycling: grade level.
There are no category petitions, and riders may only compete in categories aligned with their grade.

The eight individual Championship Fields are:

Varsity Boys – Grades 10–12

Junior Varsity Boys – Grades 9–12

Frosh/Soph Boys – Grades 8–10

Middle School Boys – Grades 6–7

Varsity Girls – Grades 10–12

Junior Varsity Girls – Grades 9–12

Frosh/Soph Girls – Grades 8–10

Middle School Girls – Grades 6–7

Riders will self-select into the most appropriate categor...choose wisely.

Registration Details

Registration opens: December 15

SoCal family, don’t forget about our clinics. We have two New Rider Clinics happening this weekend. One in Pasadena at the Rose bowl this Saturday and one at Vail Lake on Sunday. Dec 1st was the official kickoff to Season 18 of the SoCal Youth Cycling League. Eighteen years. It’s hard to even put that into words. We’ve watched kids show up nervous and unsure, then leave the season taller somehow, stronger, braver. We’ve lived through early mornings that turned into lifelong memories, dusty helmets, shaky starts, big finishes, high fives, and that sound a pack of riders makes when they finally find their rhythm together. That sound still gives us chills.

We can’t help but get nostalgic thinking about how far we’ve come. We still picture those first seasons, smaller teams, big dreams, families learning the ropes right alongside their riders. We remember the kids who once were barely tall enough for their bikes and who are now adults out in the world doing incredible things, still carrying that same spark we saw on the start line. We think about the coaches who poured their hearts into this, the parents who believed, the volunteers who kept showing up, and every single rider who found their place out there on the course. This league has always been bigger than racing. It’s been a home for so many of us.

Eighteen seasons later, the heart of this league hasn’t changed. We’re still here for confidence built one mile at a time. We’re still here for community that feels like family. We’re still here for the moments that remind our kids, and us, that we’re capable of more than we think, on the bike and in life.

So here we go. Season 18, we’re ready for you.
To every returning rider, welcome back to your people.
To every new rider, we’re so glad you found us. You’re about to be part of something that stays with you.

Let’s ride into this season together with gratitude for the road behind us, and so much love and excitement for everything ahead.

Happy Thanksgiving, SoCal League family.

As we head into the holiday, we want to share how grateful we are for each and every one of you. We are thankful for our student athletes who bring energy, courage, and heart to every practice and ride. We are thankful for our coaches who give their time, knowledge, and steady support to help riders grow on and off the bike. We are thankful for our parents and families whose encouragement, commitment, and countless behind the scenes efforts make this league possible.

We also want to offer a sincere thank you to all of our sponsors. Your support strengthens this league and helps create opportunities for student athletes across Southern California. We are truly grateful for your partnership and belief in what this community builds together.

We are excited to open our season on December 1st and cannot wait to get started. A new season brings new goals, new friendships, and new trail days, and we are looking forward to all of it with you. And we are already counting down to race number one in February. We cannot wait to see everyone again, hear the cheers, and watch this community come alive at the start line.

Wishing you and your loved ones a warm, restful, and happy Thanksgiving. Thank you for being part of the SoCal League.

What an incredible start to the season!

Saturday marked our very first SoCal Shredfest at SkyPark, and it couldn’t have been a better day to celebrate our community and what makes youth cycling so special. We had approx. 20 teams represented and 12 boothing teams come together, along with around 300 parents, coaches, and athletes. The park was alive with excitement, laughter, and the unmistakable sound of riders taking on the trails with passion and confidence.

Thank you to everyone who made the day such a success: the organizers, volunteers, teams, and families who brought their enthusiasm and heart. This event was a powerful kickoff to what promises to be an incredible season ahead, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for our SoCal cycling community.

Here’s to more rides, more smiles, and more memories to come.
