Due to an extreme heat warning in effect for the area through Friday night, the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship event scheduled for September 4 at Wayne County Speedway in Wayne City, Illinois has been canceled.

This event will not be rescheduled.

“With the forecast calling for extreme temperatures on Friday, our priority is the safety of our competitors, our fans, and our staff,” Wayne County Speedway promoter Jeremy Sneed stated. “We appreciate everyone’s understanding and support in this decision.”

USAC national racing continues this weekend with three more events. This Saturday, September 5, the USAC Silver Crown Championship visits the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds in southern Illinois.

USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship racing resumes with two events this weekend. This Sunday, September 6, it’s the Firemen’s Nationals at Sun Prairie, Wisconsin’s Angell Park Speedway. On Monday, the series makes its debut at Coles County Speedway in Mattoon, Illinois with the Lake Land College King of Coles.

This weekend's USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship events at Coles County Speedway & Jacksonville Speedway have been rained out.

However, the Coles County event has been rescheduled as part of stacked Labor Day weekend of racing for USAC.

The USAC National Midget season resumes on the first weekend of September..
