The Ion Max, having already established itself as the premier heavy oil option in the Storm lineup, naturally called for a companion piece to handle the transition. Enter the Ion Max Pearl. Featuring the same trusted NRG cover formulation—this time in a polished pearl version—the Ion Max Pearl steps in precisely when the original Ion Max begins to read too early. The NRG Pearl cover, known for its higher oil absorption rate and Power Edge finish, creates consistent traction through the midlane while delivering a quick, decisive motion at the breakpoint. At the heart of the ball lies the Element Max A.I. Core, one of the lowest RG asymmetric cores Storm has ever engineered. Its fast-revving nature generates eye-catching torque and a powerful midlane roll. Thanks to its unique design, the core’s dynamics shift dramatically based on layout adjustments. The SPI LAB Series introduces the Concept, our next innovative release that reverses the narrative on how core/cover combinations are developed for challenging patterns. The ARC Cover has the highest coefficient of friction (COF) values and is right at the USBC limit on oil absorption time. With the Concept, the coverstock acts as both the engine and the tires, while the Radius Weight Block behaves as the traction control - making sure the ball stays on-line to find the pocket. Since the coverstock is so strong and the weight block is very conservative in terms of RG/Diff, the Concept never wants to "lock up" or go forward down the lane. Even though the diff is very low, the cover technology ensures the ball does not carry oil down the lane as urethane is known to do. The cover forces the ball to continue hooking through the pins. The Concept, in the 14 - 16 pound weights, is a two-piece ball with a thick resin shell. The thicker shell raises the coefficient of restitution (COR) which has been shown to create more lively pin action. Release Date 2/27/2026

Its proven NRG Hybrid coverstock formulation offers exceptional versatility, easily adjustable to match a wide range of surfaces and styles. At the heart of the Bionic lies a weight block design that simply made sense. The concept stemmed from creating a symmetrical evolution of the Element Max Core found in the Ion Max. After extensive testing, we maintained the integrity of the Ion Max’s performance DNA and “revolved” it into a highly dynamic symmetrical shape. The core features the same stacked ellipse structure that broadens toward the equator, a design strategically intended to be intersected during drilling, thereby increasing differential. As with the Ion Max, core dynamics respond more distinctly across various layouts, giving pro shop operators and bowlers alike more fine-tuned control. The center-heavy mass properties of the weight block help keep the RG low, while the addition of the flip block delivers that signature Storm torque effect off the end of the pattern, an unmistakable motion unmatched in today’s market.

Brunswick advances the Combat line with the arrival of Combat Hybrid — a tactical evolution engineered for midlane dominance. The addition of Alpha Premier Hybrid, a non-HK22-based cover, creates traction in oil while maintaining the predictable continuation that made the original Combat so effective. Paired again with the Rampart core, this new 2000 grit-finish asymmetric hybrid reads the midlane earlier and more aggressively, providing a heavier roll with relentless motion through the pins. We created Combat Hybrid to be that crucial step up in motion and traction from the original. Similar in shape, but more of it. PIRANHA SOLID

Columbia 300 returns to the roots of the legendary Piranha line with a modern version of the vibrant orange Piranha. It’s a throwback to the era when the Piranha dominated the lanes. We’ve taken the core design that delivered predictable early-roll and unmistakable control in the Piranha PowerCOR balls and modified it. By changing the density of the Piranha core and removing the PowerCOR nugget, we raised the RG and lowered the differential. These updates to the core help deliver consistency and control. Surrounding that core with our latest HyperFlex cover technology, a non-HK22 formula that found success in the recent Pulse release, we crafted a motion that is smooth yet confident. The 1500 grit finish creates a Piranha Solid that is built to perform on medium-to-heavier lane conditions when consistency really matters. Radical is very excited to announce a new addition to the Top Shelf line, the Deep Impact. The Deep Impact core design features very dynamic after-drilling numbers, which have proven very helpful for locking in your performance. In addition to strong core dynamics, we have wrapped it in our HK22C+ Hybrid cover, which gives it a strong mid-lane move and strong recovery.

The Deep Impact has an RG of 2.480, a total Differential of 0.052, and an Intermediate Differential of 0.019. It features a 3 to 1 Differential ratio between the Intermediate and total Differential, which we have found yields the best continuation numbers.

Our testers all reported a strong mid-lane move and lots of continuation, all of which is attributed to the addition of the HK22C+ Hybrid cover package. We have a strong asymmetrical ball that reads the mid-lane yet still maintains rotation, so it is very continuous. Release Date 2/12/2026
