Sugar is everywhere, secretly hidden inside some of our favorite [processed] foods. Learn to read labels. Be aware of what you’re putting in your body. Knowledge is power - and often better health!

The Sugar Association claims "that there are no bad foods, only bad diets, and these were due to personal choices." This is such a load of crap. Adult men take in an average of 24 teaspoons of added sugar per day, according to the National Cancer Institute. The effects of added sugar intake — higher blood pressure, inflammation, weight gain, diabetes, and fatty liver disease — are all linked to an increased risk for heart attack and stroke. Sugar hides in our everyday food. Read your labels and avoid one of the greatest threats to our health. *Ketchup is not good for you.

There’s so much info in this article that, as a health coach, I absolutely agree with. Diets only get you so far. Eating whole, real foods with no labels is the best way to eat, and to me, that is just part of an overall healthy lifestyle instead of being some diet fad.
