I have felt, said and struggled with this for years.
Reposted from This took me a long time to understand and internalize so bear with me for a moment and read the caption before you comment.
Much of what I see on social media are messages recommending you suppress normal human emotions and behaviors.
“Don’t care what other people think of you.”
“Don’t judge yourself.”
“Don’t compare yourself to others.”
Read the whole caption before you comment.
There is a *massive* difference between doing these things and allowing these things to dictate your actions.
And the issue with telling people not to do them is they’re all natural human behaviors.
We all care what others think.
We all judge ourselves.
We all compare ourselves to others.
And when we’re told not to...as though it’s bad or wrong or inappropriate...you feel guilty for doing it.
And when you feel guilty for doing something, you think you screwed up. You think you failed. You think you ruined your progress.
That’s when you usually give up. Say “why bother.” And quit altogether.
Listen.
There’s nothing inherently wrong with caring about what others think of you.
If you didn’t care at all...you’d be a f-ing psychopath.
And for anyone in the comments going to say, “I don’t care what people think of me!!!” you’re lying to yourself.
If you feel good when someone compliments you...you care what people think.
Which, again, is normal. It’s part of being human.
The potential issue here lies in allowing what others think of you to dictate your actions.
Allowing the fear of how others might respond to prevent you from doing what you know is right.
See, the goal isn’t to stop caring.
The goal is to stop allowing what others think to dictate your actions.

Apparently riding a bike is just like riding a bike. Comes right back to you. Who'da thunk it?! Following my own advice from yesterday and changing it up. From the house, to the Rock, around and then back home. Feels good now. We'll see about that saddle soreness tomorrow. Special shout-out to for making this possible. 😉
🚵🏿♂ And while I'm here, I'm looking for First Responders who want to get better than Academy fit and know they are READY for the front lines in 60 days. It's a new program I'm rolling out and I want to make sure I've got all the kinks worked out before Summer. It's done remotely so there's no pressure to disrupt social distancing or your schedule. I said there would be discounts for First Responders and Healthcare workers. Military too. I wasn't kidding. This is 50% off of what it will be June 1st. 🏆If that's you, type "Tell me more" in the comments or DM me and I'll get you the details.
🚵🏿♂Thank you to those who have already taken that first step ❣️❣️

🌶🥦Many people struggle with getting enough veggies in their diet! One GREAT way to boost your intake is to make a big pan of roasted veggies – they are easy to make and they taste delicious.
---------------------------------------------------------
Everyone’s Favorite Roasted Vegetables
Ingredients:
1 bunch Asparagus, Ends Cut Off, Chopped Into 2-3 Inch Pieces
1 Red Onion, peeled and chopped
1 Red Bell Pepper, seeded and chopped
8 oz. Mushrooms (any kind), quartered or halved
1 medium eggplant, chopped into cubes
½ butternut squash, peeled and cubed
3 cloves garlic, minced
Salt & pepper, to taste
1 tsp. steak seasoning (your favorite brand)
⅓ cup Olive Oil
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Mix all of the vegetables in a large bowl.
Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt, pepper, and steak seasonings.
Gently toss to coat all of the veggies.
Spread veggies out on two baking sheets.
Roast for 20 minutes, shaking the pans 2x while roasting. If needed, roast for an
additional 5-10 minutes.
💰Enjoy!!

🏆Sooooooo, now that you're home, here's a challenge I both love and dread all at the same time – it will take some time, but the payoff is sweet! Besides, you're supposed to be staying in!
🏆We’re going to raid our ENTIRE KITCHEN – getting rid of anything that we no longer need, use, or that isn’t serving our health and fitness goals.
So let’s get started!
🏆First, start with the pantry …. Go through every shelf and toss anything that’s expired,
questionable (hey, it happens!), or is overly processed. Look at all your food labels and get rid of anything with the word “hydrogenated” in it … along with excess sugars,
preservatives, or anything else you can’t pronounce! 😁
♻Then, you’ll move to your kitchen cabinets and drawers and do the same thing.
🏆Lastly, you’ll put on your “it’s go time” face, and get busy with your refrigerator and freezer!
🏆Personally, I like to do each area one at a time, raiding it and then giving each area a little scrub-down as I go.
🏆Have a question about how long you should keep foods? Here’s an awesome chart
you can download:
www.realsimple.com/food-recipes/shopping-storing/food-storage-chart
🏆Once you’re done cleaning everything out, take a few minutes to assess what’s left and see what you need to restock in your kitchen!
🏆This may not sound fun - but I PROMISE when you’re done, your soul will be happy :-)

Came across looking for something else. This right here hit strong. Last week tried to outdo itself with the challenges. I do feel fortunate that in the midst of it I felt the spirit of this post and looked at all that was happening as an unexpected catalyst for my 2020 vision. Guess it's that time.

It's "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year".....Except when it's not. For many, Fall and Winter bring their favorite holidays. Along with those however, comes colder weather and reduced exposure to sunlight. Couple that with the fact that as adults, often the holiday magic of our youth is replaced with stress, sickness and difficult memories. It's the time-tested recipe for S.A.D. : Seasonal Affective Disorder.
Fall and winter SAD
Symptoms specific to winter-onset SAD, sometimes called winter depression, may include:
Oversleeping
Appetite changes, especially a craving for foods high in carbohydrates
Weight gain
Tiredness or low energy
If you're affected by it the great news is that it's temporary and you can do something about it now!
Lifestyle and home remedies
In addition to your treatment plan for seasonal affective disorder:
Make your environment sunnier and brighter. Open blinds, trim tree branches that block sunlight or add skylights to your home. Sit closer to bright windows while at home or in the office.
Get outside. Take a long walk, eat lunch at a nearby park, or simply sit on a bench and soak up the sun. Even on cold or cloudy days, outdoor light can help — especially if you spend some time outside within two hours of getting up in the morning.
Exercise regularly. Exercise and other types of physical activity help relieve stress and anxiety, both of which can increase SAD symptoms. Being more fit can make you feel better about yourself, too, which can lift your mood.
•A light box delivers light that with up to ten times the intensity of normal domestic lighting. In most cases, you simply sit about 12 inches in front of a 10,000-lux light box for 15 to 30 minutes each morning.
