Brooke Beck Drives In Many Batters As Marana High School Tigers Lose To Pinnacle Varsity Pioneers

Brooke Beck drove in four on two hits, but Marana High School Tigers fell to Pinnacle Varsity Pioneers 20-5 on Wednesday at Pinnacle High School.
Pinnacle Varsity Pioneers opened the scoring in the first after Sienna Caro hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Pinnacle Varsity Pioneers scored seven runs on four hits in the bottom of the second inning. Bri Smith drew a walk, scoring one run, Caro singled, scoring two runs, Lili Cruse singled, scoring three runs, and Aubriana Rivera drew a walk, scoring one run.
Pinnacle Varsity Pioneers scored nine runs on eight hits in the bottom of the third inning. Cruse doubled, scoring one run, Emma Winter induced Elaina Cloud to hit into a fielder's choice, but two runs scored, Rivera singled, scoring one run, Smith singled, scoring one run, Torynn Slaughter singled, scoring one run, and Cruse doubled, scoring three runs.
Marana High School Tigers made the score 17-5 in the top of the fourth inning when Makenzi Sledge hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Beck homered to right field, scoring three runs.
Lilly Hamel earned the win for Pinnacle Varsity Pioneers. The pitcher allowed five hits and five runs over four innings, striking out four and walking one. Aubrianna Gray took the loss for Marana High School Tigers. The starter went one inning, giving up five runs on five hits, striking out none and walking two.
Pinnacle Varsity Pioneers piled up 19 hits in the game. Cruse provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Pinnacle Varsity Pioneers with seven runs batted in. The outfielder went 5-for-5 on the day. Caro, Smith, Slaughter, Rivera, and Cora Bane each collected multiple hits for Pinnacle Varsity Pioneers. Pinnacle Varsity Pioneers had a strong eye at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Slaughter and Sienna Walker led the team with two free passes each. Pinnacle Varsity Pioneers were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Slaughter made the most plays with four.
