I’m turning 70 on May 27th. Hard to believe! I still feel like I’m somewhere in my 30’s.

In coaching, we often ask: “What are you listening for?”
Because whatever you’re listening for is what you’re going to hear.
If you’re listening for how to genuinely support someone, the conversation feels very different. And if you’re listening for where coaching can help them, that’s where you can step up and lead in a conversation.
One of the things I believe deeply is this: People rarely change through one conversation with insight alone. They change through support, accountability, perspective, and ongoing conversation.
Most leaders have already tried to solve their challenges on their own many times before they ever speak to a coach. They’re in patterns. And unless something interrupts the pattern, the trajectory will continue.
That’s why coaching matters so much. We want to stop the trajectory because we can see where it will lead them away from where they want to be. And we can hear the deeper opportunity for transformation underneath what they’re saying.
