Hi I am Sam and recently I was given the role as Equipment Manager and I am excited and ready to take this on but here is a little about me:

I joined Buhurt because I was looking for an upgrade from SCA. I keep coming back because this team has a great sense of community and for the fun and thrill of the fight.

If I had to choose a favorite weapon to go into the lyst with I would have to say a two-handed sword or falchion.

Now on this team we are a big family but if I had to pick one team mate to go into the lyst with it would be Justin (The Fighting Shrimp) and the team mate I don't like going up against is James (Ent 1).

On a fun note Pineapple does go on pizza and I cant resist a GOOD margarita, to get on my good side throw snacks a me like a white Monster or some cool ranch Doritos.

Great to meet everyone, cant wait to see you at the next fight.

As our team continues to expand, several members have taken on new roles. To facilitate a more personal connection, we will be introducing team members through a series of 'Meet the Team' posts, shared almost daily. Later today, we will feature Sam.

Armored Combat Worldwide (ACW) invites medieval armored combat fighters and teams from all leagues to compete in an open tournament at the SALT LAKE CITY 2026 SUMMER BRAWL - FitCon Utah at the MOUNTAIN AMERICA EXPO CENTER in Sandy, Utah. On Friday, May 29th and Saturday, May 30th, individual (male and female) fighters and teams from all over the USA can fight for trophies and medals.
Fighter and support pre-registration is required (see below registration).NO registration fee for current ACW members! A $50 registration fee is required for non-ACW members. Event registration covers entrance fee to the Fitcon event site, entrance in the fighting competition, and the fighter’s event liability insurance for the event.
Spectators and fans are encouraged to attend this exciting event. Get close and hear swords, axes, shields and armor clash and sparks fly in one-on-one competition and team melees. This is your chance to meet and talk to the fighters and teams from all over the USA in this action-packed sport! Bring the family and friends to see real Knights! Real Fights!

With a heavy heart, the Buhurt community is saying goodbye to one of our own. He will be missed in the lyst but forever in the hearts and minds of those who had the pleasure of being around him.

Our fighter James has earned the opportunity to compete at the IMCF National Qualifiers this March in Dallas, Texas—a major step toward competing at the national and international level in medieval armored combat.

This is a full-contact, highly competitive sport that demands intense training, discipline, and commitment. I’ve put in the work to get here, and now we are asking for help to cover the remaining costs to compete, including travel, lodging, registration fees, and equipment upkeep.
