Seeing so many people come together to support Chris was incredibly emotional. Every hug, kind word, donation, and show of love means more to us than you will ever know.

This has been one of the hardest chapters of our lives, but moments like Saturday remind us just how blessed we are to be surrounded by such an amazing racing family.

You didn’t just show up for a race. You showed up for Chris, and that is something we will never forget. ❤️

Between the incredible crowd for the Outlaw Figure 8 Race 4 Chris Curtis 74 and the amazing drivers who gave up their race earnings, we presented Chris Curtis with a check for over $7,000 to help with his recovery efforts. Thank you all for demonstrating the true strength of our racing family! ❤️‍🩹🏁

A very special THANK YOU to Indianapolis Speedrome for putting on yesterday’s 74 Laps for Chris Curtis Outlaw Figure 8 Race! ❤️

What an incredible feeling to see Chris get to present RJ Norton III with the winner’s trophy! 🏆 We even got some great pictures together!

But what made the night truly special was seeing SO MANY old friends, making new ones, and being surrounded by our racing family. ❤️

I truly think Chris had a fantastic time, and after everything he’s been through these past several weeks, seeing him surrounded by the people and the sport he loves meant more to me than I can ever explain. 🥹❤️

To every racer, crew member, friend, and racing family who showed up — THANK YOU! You may never realize how much something as simple as showing up, giving a hug, sharing a laugh, or stopping to visit means to us right now. We are beyond blessed to be part of such an incredible racing community. ❤️

And then there was a CRAZY moment! 😳

Julie Wall was almost taken out by a flying piece of Chris’s NBQ chassis during the accident! THANK GOODNESS it missed you! 🫶🏼

Well, Jeremy Wall actually brought that piece of the chassis to the track for Chris to autograph! 😂🏁 Talk about a one-of-a-kind racing souvenir! That’s a story we’ll never forget!

I really wish I had taken more pictures, but I think I was too busy soaking up every moment. ❤️

For one night, it wasn’t about doctors, surgeries, appointments, or everything we’re still facing. It was about Chris, racing, friendship, laughter, and the incredible people who continue to lift us up.

❤️‍🩹 Chris’s Medical Update 10/9

One Month Today Since Spinal Fusion Surgery ❤️‍🩹

One month ago today, Chris underwent spinal fusion surgery. A day I will never forget, and one I pray we never have to experience again. 💔

I wish I could say we’re finally getting the answers and good news we’ve been waiting for, but unfortunately, that’s not the case.

We’ve had to extend our Airbnb and rental cars another THREE WEEKS because we still cannot find an orthopedic surgeon in Washington willing to take over Chris’s care. 🤬
We made the devastating decision to just have it all completed here in Indy and then we get home he should only need in home PT to get his strength back.

🧠 Chris continues to struggle with severe dizziness from his concussion. Yesterday he saw the Concussion PT doctor who referred him for an urgent eye examination and additional testing and they got him in today!

👁️ The eye specialist confirmed trauma to his eyes that will require monitoring every three months. Thankfully, he has no restrictions on flying. 🙏

But after we left, the specialist called back. Something else showed up in Chris’s testing that needs further evaluation. We have to go back next week.

Those words absolutely crushed me. 💔

I don’t know what they found. I don’t know what it means. And that unknown is terrifying.

I keep looking at Chris and thinking about how close I came to losing him. How much his body has already endured. How much more can one person possibly be asked to go through?

I am so incredibly thankful he’s still here, but I am terrified of what another phone call or doctor’s appointment might bring. 😭

Our next few appointments are
October 20 for his back surgeon with
x-rays
October 27 for removal of the pins in his fingers and toes, along with more X-rays.

We’re still holding onto October 28 as our hopeful day to finally fly home. ❤️

Tonight, I’m asking for something a little different.

Please pray that the doctors find nothing serious. Pray that Chris’s dizziness improves. Pray that his body continues to heal. And please pray that the man who has already survived so much doesn’t have another battle waiting for him. 🙏💔

I just want my husband healthy. I just want our life back. I just want to know he’s going to be okay. ❤️‍🩹

I don’t even know if there are words big enough to express what Chris and I are feeling right now.

To each and every single person who donated to the #74 Strong fundraisers (Go Fund Me, Zelle, Venmo) please know that we see you. We see your name, we see your generosity, and we feel the love behind every single donation. Whether it was $5, $20, $100 or more, the amount truly does not matter. What matters is that you thought of us during one of the hardest and scariest times of our lives and chose to help carry some of this weight for us. ❤️

Being so far away from home, our family, our friends, our dogs and everything familiar — while trying to navigate surgeries, appointments, recovery, insurance, lost work, extended Airbnb stays, rental cars and all the unexpected expenses — has been overwhelming in ways I can’t even explain.

There have been moments where I have felt completely exhausted, scared and defeated.

And then I look at all of you.

Every donation. Every prayer. Every message. Every share. Every person checking in on us. THANK YOU.

You have reminded us over and over again that we are not going through this alone.

Please understand that your donation wasn’t just money. It gave us breathing room. It helped take away a little bit of fear. It allowed me to focus more on taking care of Chris and getting him through this long road of recovery. Most importantly, it reminded us how incredibly loved and supported we are.

I wish I could hug every single one of you personally and tell you what your kindness has meant to us. ❤️

And an extra special thank you and bear hugs to Erikaand Robin for putting this GoFundMe fundraiser together for us. Asking for help isn’t easy, and accepting help isn’t always easy either. You stepped in when we needed it most, without hesitation, and created something that has touched us more deeply than you will ever know. We will never forget what you’ve done for us. ❤️

You are all now a part of Chris’s recovery journey, and someday when we look back at this incredibly difficult chapter, we will remember not only the accident and everything we went through…

We will remember the incredible people who surrounded us with love and helped carry us home. ❤️

I was able to get Chris out of the house again last night! ❤️🏁

This time I got to take him to Anderson Speedway! 🏎️💨

Navigating the track with everything Chris has going on was definitely a little challenging, but we made it work. It felt SO good to get him out of the house and back around some racing again. ❤️

Racing here is definitely a little different than what we’re used to — they started at 6 PM and were completely done by 8:30! 😂 We’re used to settling in for a some night at the racetrack!

But racing is racing, and it was great to get some track time, hear those engines, and have a little bit of normalcy back in our lives. 🏁❤️

Another little outing and another little step forward in Chris’s recovery journey. 💪🏼🏁❤️
