Hot Laps/Qualifying: 6th out of 8 in our group
Heat Race: 6th ➡️ 7th
Feature: 20th ➡️ 11th

We started the night off qualifying 6th in our group, which was a very strong group of cars. Unfortunately, qualifying didn’t go exactly as planned. I got caught up behind two cars battling, which made it difficult to get a clean, fast lap in.

In the heat race, we went from 6th to 7th. The car was definitely down on power, but I did my best to make do with what we had. At first, I thought the issues in the heat race were driver error, but Dad noticed there was something off with the motor. As soon as I pulled in after the heat, we went straight to work trying to figure out what was going on. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find the main issue.

By the time the feature rolled around, we were still down on power, and the car really struggled to take off on restarts. Starting 20th, I was able to work my way up to 9th at one point before eventually finishing 11th.

We definitely had a better car than an 11th-place finish. I just didn’t realize soon enough how much better the car was working on the top than it was on the bottom. That’s something I’ll learn from and carry with me into the next one.

It’s frustrating knowing we were able to go from 20th to 9th and then give a few spots back by not running the better line. Every night gives me something new to learn.
Hopefully, this week we can finally get all the bugs worked out of this motor.

On this day three years ago, Ashlea Albertson's life was tragically cut short.

One month from tonight, we honor her life by racing in her memory at Indianapolis, Indiana's Circle City Raceway.

No racing for us this weekend! 🏁 We’re spending the week in Knoxville for Nationals, soaking in one of the biggest events in winged racing. Just waiting for the day I get the opportunity to compete here myself. Being born into a winged racing family, this is a race I’ve watched and dreamed about for as long as I can remember.

We will be back racing next weekend at Red Hill Raceway on 8/22!

Well, we started the night off strong by locking ourselves into the A-Main, but unfortunately, I made too many mistakes in the feature that ultimately cost us a great finish. We definitely had at least a top-5 car, if not better, and it’s frustrating knowing we had the speed to run up front.

I got caught on the wrong end of every restart with a slower car that just wouldn’t take off, which caused me to lose a few spots throughout the race. But at the end of the day, I know I made mistakes that I can learn from and improve on.

I don’t think I’ve ever been this disappointed in myself after a race, especially knowing how fast and amazing the car was last night. Huge thank you to everyone who continues to support me and my racing program. We’ll take the lessons from this one and come back stronger!

WHAT A NIGHT! 🔥

We started the night off not so strong with a P26 qualifying effort out of 33 cars. The track was hammerdown and still a little greasy when I went out.

We got put in the inside row starting 7th in a stacked heat race. I was able to pick up one spot, but unfortunately came up just one spot short of a transfer. Even though the results weren’t there yet, the biggest positive was that the car was finally running right and felt really good underneath me.

That put us into the B-Main, where we went 6th ➡️ 2nd! The car was absolutely amazing and I felt so comfortable behind the wheel. Had to get the elbows up a few times, but we got the job done and finally locked ourselves into the $3,000-to-win A-Main! 🙌🏼

From there, the car was rolling for most of the feature. Unfortunately, a few mistakes by the driver cost us a couple of spots. I tried running a different line to get around some slower cars, and unfortunately, that ended up costing me in the end. We definitely had a top 10 car, but came up just one spot short.

We were running 9th when the final caution came out, but somehow two cars were put back into their spots after either being a lap down or involved in a wreck. It’s just part of racing, and it definitely sucks, but we’ll take the positives from tonight. 💪🏼

Overall, I’m so excited about the momentum we have right now and can’t wait to carry it into tomorrow at Paragon Speedway for the $1,500 to win race! 🏁

Started 6th in the B-Main with one goal, finish in the top 4 to transfer to the A-Main. We got it done! Finished 2nd and punched our ticket into the A-Main! 💪

Now it’s time to go race for it! Let’s see what we can do!
