Super excited to have been asked by Tulsa Athletic to participate in their artist poster series alongside a great group of Tulsa artists and designers! Here’s my poster design for this Sunday’s home game. Had a ton of fun drawing this!
It’s the Friday before Round 4 which means it’s time for another local artist and game day poster reveal! This week we’re excited to announce that we collaborated with local graphic designer, Chris Skillern of Tulsey Type! We could go on and on about his illustrations and creative type, but we think it’s better if he does it himself:
“[My] work puts a heavy emphasis on type and hand lettering. I owe my career as an artist to my lifelong obsession with cartoons (watching, reading and drawing them) and my years spent [designing] in the local punk scene...Those same influences informed this poster design.”
Be sure to follow Chris on Instagram and to grab this truly one of a kind game day poster for only $25 this Sunday before they’re gone!

Long time no post! My two-year-old is at school today, and I miss her, so I made some stickers of her three favorite animals. Gonna' take these (and a cookie) with me when I pick her up. More type posts soon! Things have been crazy!

Happy Easter, everyone!

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! This goes out to my amazing wife, who is my best friend in the world, the love of my life, and an incredible mother to our daughter. Speaking of my daughter, this goes out to you, too, sweetheart! I used your favorite color (purple)!

When you're a designer, you make sure your daughter's birthday party favors are on point. Happy 2nd birthday, Mary!

A companion to the thing I posted yesterday.

An early, rough vector sketch of something that could eventually turn into part of a bigger something, depending on my attention span. Inspired by some type I found in the book from my previous post, interpreted through my hand with a Pilot parallel pen, and then gussied up in Glyphs.

New addition to the bookshelf! Picked this up from at this morning. If you're in Tulsa, head downtown and check it out from 9-5 today!

Sometimes your nearly two-year-old daughter decides to give you the full "terrible twos" experience, so at nap time, you retreat to your bedroom and de-stress by drawing "de-stress" in a reverse-stress style.

Sorry if you started following me for typography but all I post anymore are sheep drawings. I promise I'll post some type stuff soon! I'm doing character studies for a children's book idea I have. This is not the name of the book or even the main character, but I just can't stop drawing sheep. Ha Also, man, I love drawing on my iPad Pro. So versatile, and my hand doesn't cramp up like it does with pencil and paper.
