Dear 83 United Members,
Your board of directors has at present two vacancies: President, and Parliamentarian. The board intends to fill these vacancies at the May board meeting on Tuesday, 5 May, at Nothing's Left Brewing Co. in Tulsa, starting at 6:00pm.
We are inviting members who are willing to be considered to be appointed to one of these positions to send an email with a Subject line such as "Board Vacancies" to [email protected]. There is also a possibility that the appointments process will produce another vacancy, probably one of the At-Large board members. Interested people could identify themselves as being interested in serving in one of the other board positions should that become vacant. The board prefers to consider appointing current or past members of the board to the Presidency.

The board would appoint someone to a vacant position via the following process, consistent with the bylaws: a board member could move to appoint someone, then a second board member could second that motion. Those decisions would cause the motion to come before the board for a vote. A person gaining a majority of the board members' votes cast is appointed to the vacant position. The appointments will be effective until the next election, scheduled to occur at the Annual General Meeting this December.
Given the above process, I would advise members interested in being appointed to and serving on the board at the next meeting to communicate with individual board members as well as sending an email. You will need two board members willing to bring your name up for a vote.
